Personal History Family Background
Vince grew up in a family that was rich in Starfleet heritage. Most of his family was the rank of Commander or above most of his life, and later Admiral and above. So at a young age he was already looking to the stars, wondering what was out there. Vince’s mother was a doctor, Admiral Claire Stryfe, assigned to the Fleet academy as an instructor. His father, General Victor Stryfe, was commander of the USS Comanche. He also had two grandfathers that were Admirals, a grandmother that was also an Admiral, and a grandmother that was a Lt. Commander.

Vince spent most of his childhood at home on Earth with his mother and grandparents. From an early age he already had high expectations from his family, but never seemed to be bothered by it. When he was 6, his grandfather took him to an air show, and a love of flying began. He seemed to love 20th & 21st century flight technology the most, but respected the newer technology as well. His father noticed his son’s love of flying early, giving him a restored P-51 to fly on the family's farm.

Throughout school he was above average in all studies, but never truly applied himself to go above and beyond in his studies, his attention was always on flying. When he was in his early teens he played on the local baseball and football teams, excelling in both, winning championships and several player awards. He Graduated from high school at the age of 16, and was immediately accepted into the Marine Flight Academy.

Marines
Vince graduated from the Flight Academy in just under two years, getting assigned to a squadron. The Blackhawks were a modified variant of the Valkyries, made specifically for use by the Marines. Vince showed a deep understanding of how to fly almost anything, and felt more than comfortable in the cockpit of the fighter.

Not long after Vince had situated himself as the Flight Commander for the Blackhawks, the USS Comanche was engaged by a rogue Romulan ship, bent on destroying any Federation ship in its path. The Blackhawks were scattered, and a battle ensued. After just an hour, half of the Valkyries were destroyed, and the Comanche was taking heavy fire, it’s shield’s diminishing. Vince knew the situation and discovered a weakening in the Romulan ship’s stern shield’s. He plotted a collision course with the ship’s engines, ejecting the cockpit of the fighter just moments before impact. He was recovered shortly after, unharmed and excited to have mortally damaged the attacking ship.

After 3 years in the command of the Blackhawks, Vince was feeling very comfortable in the position. He also found himself engaged to one of his fellow pilots, and everything seemed perfect. As the Comanche was returning to Earth for a refit and repair, the ship came into the path of a smuggler ship. The smugglers thought immediately that the Starfleet vessel was going to try and board them, and opened fire on the Comanche. As the fighters were scrambled Vince took control of his squadron, leading them towards the attacking ship. Ignoring the opinions of his fellow fighters, he positioned the squad for an attack run and moved in. The squad didn’t have a chance as the maneuver placed his wingman, 1st Lt. Charlotte Davis, in the path of their own ship’s phasers. He watched in horror as her fighter disintegrated in front of him. After the battle Vince came in front of the commanding officer, who demoted him to 2nd Lt. and removed his status as squad leader.

The next year was a spiral downwards for Vince as he drowned his sorrows in whatever alcoholic beverage that he could find. He skirted his work on a normal basis, and his piloting skills seemed to diminish more and more. By the end he was barely leaving his quarters. Though it pained him, Vince’s commanding officer, his father, had him discharged, and sent back home to Earth aboard a civilian cruiser, hoping that he could straighten himself out in the comfort of family.

Starfleet

After a short time Vince found himself aboard the USS Presidio. He flew the ship on a limited basis, learning to handle the bigger ships, which didn’t take long before he was reassigned to the USS Frankfurt as a regular shift pilot.

In the blink of an eye Vince was rising to become a fine pilot, and a handy addition to have on an away mission. On one such mission Vince and several others were beamed down to the surface of an unknown planet called Halcyon.

Just after the away team beamed to the planet, they saw a flash in the skies above them, and then watched in horror as they saw the Frankfurt crashing into the sea before them. Over a year passed and many of the away team was killed along the way, but Vince and another crew member, Nathan Benjamin, found a way off the planet. Shortly after they’re distress beacon was picked up, and they were rescued.

After the events of Halcyon, Vince served as a Helmsman on the USS Silvana under the command of Admiral Tom Marshell. After a year aboard he applied to the USS Andromeda as Assistant Chief Helmsman.
