Personality & Traits

General Overview Roger is a stodgy, boring gent, insofar as he is quiet, not prone to drama, and keeps his head low. He is very caring, with a warm bedside manner, and a knack for fast healing.
He is calm under pressure, but conversely, can be panicked in very "simple" situations-ie, when his favorite pen goes missing. He has trauma medicine training, and therefore, is able to see death and destruction, then compartmentalize it to get the job done.
He has worked with people from all walks of life, but prefers adult medicine because watching children die "really sucks." As a leader, he has been called "inspiring" and "assertive but warm", and as an employee, he's been noted as "hardworking but passionate" and "efficient and calm."
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths:
-Ability to work quickly under most circumstances, including field combat
-Empathy
-Quick wit

Weaknesses:
-Likes fishing
-prone to fatigue (he IS nearly fifty)
-gets grumpy when people are lazy/useless
Ambitions Honestly, he just wants to work long and hard enough to retire well, so that he can spend his end days with his grandchildren.
Hobbies & Interests -Reading. He is a voracious reader of all genres, but prefers mysteries and thrillers
-Doodling. He isn't an artist, but you'll catch him drawing cats on his action reports.
-board games. He and Lucy have a standing Scrabble game neither will concede.
-Fishing

Personal History Roger is the second child, and only son, of Roger and Karen Harrison-both teachers.
He was born in 2355 in Paisley, Scotland, but moved to London when he was four because his father took a Headteacher's job. He attended Catholic school for Elementary and Jr. High Schools, but attended a public High School because he wanted to have a "normal" experience (and is not religious, anyway). He played sports in high school, and had several girlfriends-the regular kind of life for a young man.

After high school, he attended London City College and got a degree in Psychology and practical medicine. When the Dominion war broke out, Roger, eager to spread his wings and experience, volunteered to work in one of the triage hospitals and for the first time, went off-world.

This experience taught him to think on his feet, and utilize his psychology training. He also made a lot of new friends and acquaintances, which led him to join the Starfleet Academy, and travel further among the stars. OR that was the plan, until Starfleet posted him on Earth, in New York City. It turned out to be a good thing, though, because he met the woman who would become his wife, Lucy.

After a fast, two-year passionate courtship, they married at the (preserved) Empire State Building.

Five years ago, they had their daughter, Minnie, and these two ladies are what drives him every day. He'd die for them.

The third blessing came-he got a commission and the ability to undertake the ACMO role on an Excalibur-class starship, so he could bring his family along for the ride.

Service Record 2373-2375: Took a job in a triage hospital in one of the Betazoid colonies during the Dominion War.

2375-2379: Attended the Starfleet Academy, majoring in Medical.

2380: First Starfleet post as a Fleet doctor on Earth (New York City).
-Promoted to Ensign.

2387: Promotion to LtJG and SMO.
