ON:

Jon dropped the Orion off at sickbay and headed over to engineering.he had a couple of requests for his chief engineer to get on. And an invitation.

Lilura was in her office seeing if she could interface one of the biogel computer packs with a warp spatial harmonic telemetry sensor. By applying spatial harmonic dynamics AI discovered dynamics, she had boosted one by 164%, and she was trying for 182%. However, the Diurnal Biogel pack was a small 'node', and not made for small, focused AI programming. She may have spoken to Michael about getting there too quickly. Oh well, at least she could get the telemetry, and therefore better sensor focus and higher sustaining warp speed, better for the ship. She stood up with a wry expression on her face at not getting further, when she noticed Jon standing in the doorway. She shook off her angst and stated, "Captain, how nice to see you. Please, come in, come in. How can I help you today?"

“I need you to set up an interface between a PADD and replicator. We have a new passenger, envoy actually who cannot at present talk,” he explained. “Lovely lady. Part of my negotiation to get our second officer back was she was to join us on behalf of this Don.”

Lilura nodded, "Sure thing. I would need authorization for that. Replicators are deliberately not tied to the communication system of the ship as that would be a way to immediately cripple the ship by all replicators going off at once, or visitors or unscrupulous crew creating things they shouldn't."

“I only want one Padd, the Orion ladies personal one to talk to one replicator, the one in her quarters so that she can eat and drink,” Jon said. “If that’s not possible we need to find another way she can access the replicator without being able to speak to it.”

Lilura thought a moment, then said, "You know, if I borrow an EKG scanner and an instrument link from a Medical tricorder, I could put the other end of the instrument link into the Replicator and code them to be a match only to themselves, with limited range. Then, the doc can match your passenger's brain pattern so that only she could use it, the diplomats can program in what is allowed and not allowed to be replicated, while the instrument link would limit the reach to only be 10 meters. I think that would solve any issues that could be brought up by unscrupulous and long range reach to replicators. What do you think?"

“I think it sounds good and I trust you not to allow unscrupulous replicatoring to be going on. However just to be safe can we keep a record in the computer as to what our envoy orders, so it notifies us if she does order something or several odd things? I want to trust her but we have to remember she works for a Don from that station that nearly made slaves of our away team,” he commented.

Now that Jon had said 'not to allow', she could act upon it, as well as his next request. "It won't happen now. Starfleet never stops any use of a replicator, just logs it, and if no one notices the logs, well... However, now that you have stated such, I will gladly put limits on personal replicators, only lab, engineering, and ops not limited, except all logs need signed off by the OOW at the end of shift. I'll be sure and coordinate a listing with items in yellow or red to be concerning, while normal use items will be unflagged. Next, on the logs, the same flags and the need of the Diplomatic Corps to sign off on her logs can be put into place. Next?"

He smiled. “Now on to nicer things. Do you have plans for dinner tonight? If not I’d like to invite you to a dinner party I’m hosting.”

Lilura thought for a moment, then said, "Let's see, eating a meal with sensor schematics as my companion, or going to a dinner party with fun foods and socializing. You know, I think I'll let Mr. Schematics know he'll be dissed tonight in favor of an interesting meal and company. Will there be any dancing, sir?"

"I'm sure if your in the room Lieutenant support for that could be mustered," Jon said.

Lilura grinned and replied, "Awesome. I just love dancing. It's a celebration of living and being with others through music and movements. I look forward to it sir."
