"I had to get out of there. Any more kissy face and I didn't know if I was going to survive." Tia said after they'd left the Captain's quarters. "So where shall we start? You know this place better than I do." She turned her green eyes on him, her head cocked slightly to the right.

"Yeah they do that a lot sometimes," Eddie said. He flushed slightly as he briefly wondered what that would be like. The kissy face stuff anyway. "Dads totally head over heels for True. Well first tell me where have you been? Then I know where not to take you."

"Umm . . . school and my parents quarters and your dad's quarters and the counseling office. That's about it really. I haven't seen the lounge yet or the arboretum! Is there a good place to view the stars from? Like a viewing port? And I so want to try the holodeck, we probably have to have adult permission for that though." It was the most Tia had ever spoken in Eddie's presence. Even with her parents she was generally a quiet child but she was excited about seeing this ship.

"Okay," Eddie said. "Well thats a good spot to start the lounge and the arboretum. The holodec it depends on what programme you want to run. If theres one free and its age appropriate then you don't have any issues. Come on lets go see the Medusa's head."

"Its very red …. and gold in here," Eddie said a little confused as they walked in. "Something smells very very good though." His eyes darted over to where several people will milling over around buffet.

"Xīnnián kuàilè" someone said to them. Eddie waited for the translator which told him "Happy Luna new year."

"Come come join us," the same man said in Federation. "We have plenty of Nian gao and the traditional dance is about to start."

Eddie shrugged at Tia not really understanding what was happening. He happily took the offered "Nian gao" and bite into it.

"And for you?" the same man offered a cake to Tia.

She looked pretty weary but Eddie was eating something so she figured it was probably safe. "Thank you," she said nibbling on it. It was sweet, not anything she was really used to but not unpleasant either. It had kind of a strange texture, like a sponge. "It's good," she nodded. "I guess this was a good place to start. I haven't been to a lot of parties though." She said to Eddie.

"Thank you," Eddie said to the man walking her further in. "Its a good view here. Yeah Dad seems to have to go to or plan a lot of parties. I get to go to some. And I suppose I saw my fair share back on Betazed.

Where were you before you came and joined the Drommie. Oh we all call it the Drommie," he explained. "The ship."

"Several places, an outpost near Veridian III, we spent some time in Gorn space. Basically if it was in the middle of nowhere my dad liked it. He only got posted here because my mom wanted me to be around kids my own age. I was okay though, I liked exploring by myself. I'm going to be in Starfleet when I'm old enough. I think I want to be a xenobiologist."

"Sounds a lot of studying," Eddie commented. "So did you see any Gorns?" he asked. "Are they as huge as they say they are?"

"Yes and yes. I had my photo taken with one. Do you want to see it? I can show you my parents quarters after this if you like." Tia tilted her head. She liked to watch him as if she were trying to figure him out.

"Cool …." Eddie said. "I wonder if they are as big as the chief engineer. Have you met her? The dragon lady?"

"No." Tia shrugged. "I'm sure I will eventually though. Let's continue our tour, it's noisy in here." Tia said. She reached for Eddie's hand and pulled him toward the doorway.

"Errrrrm right ….." Eddie stammered his cheeks flushing. He tried not to think about what was happening but he was starting to get hot. He however, allowed her to drag him in the door direction. Neither of them counted on a large ceremonial dragon costume suddenly flying through the door and forcing them apart.

Eddie landed on the floor and looked up to realise there were 3 or 4 people in that costume going by the legs. He opened his mouth to say something but was cut off as loud oriental music filled the lounge and everyone started cheering. As the dragon paraded down the lounge and in the other direction he managed to get to his feet again. "Well you don't see that every day," he grinned at her.
