ON:

While Eddie was at his counselling appointment Charlotte had taken the opportunity to schedule her medical. Yes she should have done it earlier but the previous CMO had fancied her ex husband and she hadn't wanted to be around that women.

Of course then he had gone and got shacked up with the chief counselor. However she knew she would end up getting yelled at either by Jon himself, the XO if she cottoned on first or the new CMO himself if she did not attend so had taken the opportunity to book the appointment.

"Im here for my Medical," she informed a nurse walking into the medical department. "Charlotte Reynolds." The Nurse looked like they were making a mental connection with her surname. Perhaps it was time to go back to her maiden name she mused.

C'Tora's ears twitched as he heard the sickbay doors swish open with the familiar light hiss as it closed. He glanced at the chronometer and got up from his desk and walked out of his office. "Ah.Right on time. Mrs.Reynolds I presume,it is a pleasure to meet you." As he extended his hand in greeting. "If I may get you to sit on the bio-bed we may begin your physical." He stated with a gentle smile.

"Well Im no longer Mrs Reynolds," She muttered following his instruction and sitting on the indicated biobed. "That ship sailed a couple of years ago. Are you married?"

" My apologies Ms.Reynolds. " As he picked up a medical tricorder and scanning unit. His whiskers twitched at the last part of her question and took a step back. " The best way to see if a Caitian is married or not is to look at the left ankle. Since we are a species that doesn't fit into standard federation foot ware,we tend not to wear shoes as within star fleet standards for non humaniod species."

"A married Caitian would have a gold band around they're ankle about here." as he bent over to trace with his hand where it would be. " An engaged Caitian would have a silver band there and a single Caitian would have no band, like me." He said with a slight pause. " Not that my mother doesn't keep trying." He said with a sigh. " She thinks i should have given her a litter or two by now. He cocked his head to the side with a curious look." You are the first human to ask me that question. Some find me intimidating looking like a seven foot tall black jaguar. That and I smell no fear upon you, just a honest curiosity which I find refreshing. Now lets see what I can help you with today" As the tricorder began humming and doing it's job.

"That's very interesting. I shall try remember that," she said. "And please just call me Charlotte doctor. "Its a little sad if I'm the first human to ask about your life. I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm here for the mandatory annual medical please," she answered his question.

"Alright then...Charlotte it is then, you may call me C'Tora if you wish too." He said with a gentle smile. " And as for people not asking much about my life,it's understandable as I am newly arrived aboard the Andromeda and haven't met that many of the crew yet. I know this will sound a little strange since I haven't been aboard that long." He paused for a moment. The Andromeda has the feel of home to me, not just another assignment, I never got the feeling from my last ship and crew." as he proceeded with the exam as he talked.

" So far everything looks good with the exception of some lactic acid build up in the muscles. Have you been doing any heavy exercise or been under any stress lately?

"Ive been under stress for a couple of years," Charlotte laughed. "I divorced, lost custody of my son and then had to come serve onboard my ex husbands starship to ensure I got to be in my sons life. Now my ex has taken up with ... well that doesn't matter does it. Stress yes."

" I am truly sorry to hear that Charlotte."He said with an exasperated sigh. " I won't insult you and pretend to understand all the troubles that you have gone through. I will say however if you have any trouble sleeping, your in pain or if you just need someone to talk to my door is always open to you as a friend if you'd like." He picked up a PADD and tapped in some instructions and handed them to Charlotte. " As for the lactic acid my prescription is a hot yoga program on the holodeck at least one hour a week, more if need be. And I meant what I said about you coming in if you need anything."

"Doctor," Charlotte said sheepishly. "Could I ask ... could I ask for an injection. For contraception?"

She had met a marvellous man the other night and even though it felt likely to be a flash in the pan. It was time to get back out there.

"Well you seem healthy enough so that shouldn't be a problem." C'Tora picked up a hypospray and slid the vial into place in the handle. The hypo hissed at the side of her neck. " There you go. That should last you for the next six months do you have any questions or concerns you'd like to talk about?"

"Can you tell me when I need to worry about the "change" she asked. "Do I have some decent years left yet doctor?"

"Menopause? Your what Charlotte? Twenty five to thirty years old? Menopause usually take place in human females around the ages of forty five to as late as sixty. Some may start as early as thirty eight but that is rare." He paused briefly.

"Charlotte, I'm going to be frank with you. Your still a fairly young woman who is in shape and fit as a fiddle. You should have plenty of good child bearing years left ahead of you. So if you do meet that special someone and desire to have a family together I cannot see any problems that would prevent you from doing such."

"34," She said. She did wonder why Jon's goddesses had never blessed them another child but this doctor seemed to be indicating she could if she wanted too.

"Thank you doctor," she said. "I'll look into the yoga."
