Mission: R&R - after facing the Planet Killer
Location: River outside colony grounds

ON:

"I want to see the fairies," one of the ladies bored of plaiting the Cat beings hair and having him run his tests on her.

"They float around the river. So beautiful, lets go see the fairies ...."

C'Tora frowned as he looked at the tricorder readings, He was close so very close. When a voice distracted him about wanting to see fairies. " Fairies? What fairies?" He looked perplexed wondering what she could be going on about? Fairies and pixie dust? Made about much sense as anything else since they've arrived on this planet. And it might be a lead to what's going on around here, Or a bored little girls imagination. C'Tora smiled. " I think I'd like to see these fairies of yours, Could you show me where they're at? This sounds like fun!" He slung his field kit over his shoulder and held out his other hand so as to be led to where the fairies were.

"Of course," the female brightened. "Its down where we swim. Come on." She grabbed his hand not in the least concerned about his claws and gently tugged him.

"Maybe we should all have a swim," the rest said following. "Its a little walk. We play mermaids down there too. You would make a very big mermaid."

They all lead him about 15 minutes out from the colony towards a river. "See ..."

"Lots of plants and flowers. We got new ones recently .."

"And the fairies .. . look there's one now ..." she pointed.

A greeny purple wispy thing floated by them. "So pretty don't you think?"

" Yes, very pretty indeed." Responded C'Tora, As he pulled out several sample tube for the water and a dozen or so of the wispy things. He also took a few different tricorder readings just in case. " So do the fairies ever talk to you? If so what do they say? " He smiled. " Are they nice or do they get mad sometimes?" He asked being curious to hear her response.

"No they just float and fly. But we feel like playing games when they are around. They make us want to have fun," came the reply.

C'Tora scanned the spores and water samples with the tricorder and his eyes widened. He needed to get back to the shuttle to confirm with the medical equipment there. " Well they really don't make me feel like I want to play. They kind of make me feel like I want to go back to the shuttle for some chocolate cake and ice cream. That sounds fun to me. What do you think? " As he held out as hand to be lead.

Do we get sprinkles and wafers?" one of the children asked with a smile.

C"Tora grinned. " Of course, It wouldn't be much of a cake without sprinkles and wafers now would it? " They played and skipped back to the shuttle where he programed the cake and glasses of milk and sat the "Children" down to eat while he ran the test through the computer and was able to get tangible results in short order. " Well this has been a fruitful day with some unexpected help from some fairies, That in itself should make for an interesting report." He mused to himself and sat back and nibbled at some cake and a nice creamy glass of milk.
