ON:

Amelia had decided she was going to make this meal herself, which was proving an interesting challenge. When she had been growing up her father had done a lot of the cooking and he had made it look so easy. One end of her quarters had been set up as a kitchen. The table was already set for two near the window, with a bottle of red wine sat in the middle.

The door chime sounded and from her pans she called out "Come in!"

Mitchell Graham entered, holding a bottle of wine in one hand and a pudding pie in the other. He had replicated the latter in case the former proved not necessary. Seeing that there was already a bottle on ice he congratulated himself on having made a smart move.

"How's things?" He said with a grin. Before she could answer that question he set the pie down on her counter and added, "I hope you like chocolate."

Amelia looked up and smiled. "I'm good thanks and I love chocolate. Help yourself to a glass of wine. Dinner will be ready in a moment. I hope you like steak."

"Of course! Haven't had a good steak in a while," Mitchell answered. He looked at the extra bottle of wine in his hand and contemplated what to do with it. In the end he simply set it down on the table. Then picking up Amelia's bottle he read the label aloud. "Faustino 1 Gran Reserva, 2390. Does this vintage have any special meaning for you?" He went to work on it with the corkscrew.

"Good! How do you like it? Personally I like mine rare, maybe just a bit over." Amelia replied. "As for the wine, It's from Earth, a country called Spain. I find it goes very nicely with steak. As with chocolate, I've never met a red wine I didn't like."

She got two large sirloin stakes and placed them on a very hot skillet. Over the sizzle: "We're having fried mushrooms, sautéed potatoes and creamed spinach."

"Sounds wonderful. Make mine like yours. Just a bit beyond rare," he replied. The cork came out with a pop. He set the bottle down for a moment then turned back to Amelia's little kitchenette. "Where do you keep your wine glasses? Shall I pour one for you, too?"

Having her hands full at that exact moment she indicated with her foot. "That cabinet there and yes, please."

"Coming right up." He found an attractive set of Cabernet tumblers and picked out two. Then, retrieving the opened bottle, he poured two full glasses for them. "What's the ETA on dinner?" he asked.

She finished turning the steak and came over to accept the glass from Mitchell. As she did their hands touched. "Only a few more minutes, mind you some good things are worth waiting for...."

He grinned at that. "I figured you would go all out so I brought my appetite. Only ate a small salad for lunch."

She grinned at him as she wrapped her free arm around his waist and pulled herself closer to him. She placed a passionate kiss on his lips. She looked at him and whispered "That was an appetizer. Are you hungry?"

A small beeper went off on the counter top. She sighed. "Looks like the main course is ready."

Mitchell watched under a raised eyebrow as she headed back to her kitchenette. "I hate to see you leave but I love to watch you go," he muttered, then took a sip from his glass. He turned his attention to the large observation windows. Stars rushed by at warp 7, their light distorted into familiar streaks. "How are you liking the First Officer job so far?"

Amelia smiled as she put an exaggerated sway on on her hips as she walked back over to the kitchen. After turning off all the heating devices she came back with two steaks with mushrooms, sautéed potatoes and creamed spinach. She placed one plate in front of Mitchell and the other at her place. She quickly fetched her wine before sitting down.

"Bon appetit. I hope you enjoy it. As for the job, yes it's proving interesting so far. A random moon appearing and vanishing. There certainly a lot of paper work for an XO. How are you finding the flying?"

Michell shrugged at that. "She's a Galaxy class. She pretty much flies herself. Although it's always fun to have ringside seats on the bridge. This looks great by the way." He reached for his fork and knife and began to cut in, slicing with a steady, downward motion. The knife went through the steak more easily than he expected. "Really tender," he remarked, "smells amazing."

Amelia raised an eyebrow "Good. I'm glad it turned out okay. I'm also looking forward to that dessert you brought." They were soon both looking at empty plates. She rose and picked up the plates. "So tell me..." She inquired as she put the plates into the replicator "What's in this amazing pudding?"

"Risiian chocolate," he said with an ominous hint of pride. "Made by cross breeding the Earth cocoa bean with a similar bean from Risa's tropical zone. Both considered aphrodisiacs. I dare not tell you what they call it."

Amelia raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Well, now you're defiantly going to have to tell me.and who knows...... maybe it will lead to....." her voice trailed off as she slid closer to him.

"More dessert?" He said with a wry grin. One hand slid around her waist and the other on her hip.

She placed a devastating kiss on him. "Definitely." She whispered.
