ON:

Ron had not gone to see Natasha when Michael had given him the hair clip. He had tried a couple of times and his courage left him. He had sat in his quarters staring at the clip. He had carried it around on his shifts hoping to find the moment he could make his legs move. Why was he so nervous? It was just returning a clip. In his head he needed it to be perfect. And he needed to feel like a superhero not Ron Bumble lest he bumbled everything up as usual.

Eventually it seemed the universe conspired and decided to take things out of his hands as he came out of the turbolift after his shift turning right and managed to walk straight into her.

"Commander," he said horrified. "I am so sorry."

Natasha hadn't been paying attention to where she was going, having so much on her mind, well more of about Captain Keading left the Andromeda along with his sister. He wasn't much on goodbyes. She gulped back a feeling of... then she felt someone bump in her. Her eyes widened, when she saw whom it was.

"Ron!" Natasha's face lit up when she realized it was him. "And no it was my fault I hadn't been looking where I was going. Um do you want to grab a cup of coffee? Or tea or something else?" the man seemed to arrive whenever she was feeling a bit low, did he have some sort of magic to him?

"That ... erm," he cleared his throat trying to sound more confident. "That sounds lovely thank you Natasha." He figured if she was using his first name it was okay.

Natasha smiled, "I was just about to go get something to eat." motioning towards the turbolift. Then paused as she wasn't certain where they, he would want to go to. Her thoughts were interrupted by Ron.

"I ... I have something for you. I found it," he stopped for a moment. It was a lie. He didn't like that, even though Michael had suggested this ruse. "I mean someone found it and I recognised it as yours so I offered ... to .... yes ... here," he fished out the hair clip and handed it to her.

Natasha took the barrette looking at it, as memories flooded in her mind. It was what was left of her special wardrobe, the match of the other barrette that she had lost ...She knew whom it was that had found it. She must have lost it when she had been so vulnerable and he hadn't taken advantage of her. A soft gentle smile crossed her lips.

"I am very grateful it was found, I hadn't realized that I lost it. And thank you Ron for bringing it to me. Um, do you want to go to the Medusa's Head for coffee or, want to come to my quarters or just find a quiet spot, there are some currently unused conference rooms that we can just sit and talk." Deciding to give him a choice in the matter. Then her stomach growled, "Why don't you come with me to my quarters and I can fix us some supper?"

"Supper ... well ... erm yes that sounds nice," he spluttered not expecting this turn of events.

"Oh good." Natasha said brightly, taking his arm..

They reach her quarters and Natasha opened the door, "Welcome to my humble abode." Natasha giving a smile. "I don't have a lot here but I do have a kitchenette and a place to keep my food, and a place to sleep. Can I get you something to drink? And what would you be in the mood for food wise? Kimden rolls? I do like those from time to time."

"Kimden rolls. I have heard of those. Isn't the Captain a big fan? Its a family thing I believe," Ron asked.

"I didn't know he was, and a family thing? Well I may have to make some for him and his family but that will be later on. I've some rolls here that I made earlier. What would you like to eat? I can make omelets, or a pasta dish." Natasha responded.

Ron couldn't quite believe what was happening. Natasha seemed to be wanting to make him dinner. No woman bar his mother and well aunt had ever done that.

"I like pasta ... well only if you fancy that ...." he said looking confused. "I erm mean to say .... That sounds wonderful. Thank you."

Natasha noted his expression of confusion, walking up to Ron, she spoke gently, "I do fancy pasta, and I can make a salad as well." gently kissing him on the cheek. "Does chocolate cake sound good for dessert?" Natasha asked walking away to start preparations for dinner. She already had meat sauce done the night before, which there was plenty for two. It was lonely eating by herself at times and she looked back towards Ron, smiling. She could scarce believe he was here in her quarters. Natasha was worried though, would Ron disappear as if he were some apparition?

"Can I get you a drink?" Natasha asked, suddenly remembering she hadn't offered him one.

It was a lot of questions and it was difficult to concentrate as he was looking at her. Her mouth moving.

"Cake excellent," Ron said. Who didn't like cake right? A drink. She has asked if he wanted a drink, "Ginger ale?" he asked.

Natasha nodded and went to get Ron a ginger ale, she brought over the ginger ale and placed it on the table. She had a real desire to give him a kiss, um should she? She walked drew near Ron, he did bring her barrette to her, she should reward him, like a lady would for the knight who brought something useful and beautiful.

"I'd like to thank you properly for bringing my barrette." Natasha leaning in and giving Ron a kiss.

Rons eyes widened as she placed her lips to his and he suddenly felt a softness brush over his mouth. He was caught in new sensations and then there was a crash as his ginger ale slid from his hand. The liquid spilt over both of them and he panicked as he dropped the glass. It broke into several pieces on her floor.

"I ... ermmmm .... " He flustered pushing her away. "So sorry let me clean that up ....."

He looked down at his pants, mortified where the liquid had gone. He looked like he had wet himself. And worse it was drawing attention to other ... action there. Oh by god ... That situation wouldn't do. It was just a friendly kiss. A thank you. A pity kiss right? She didn't want to see she was making that sort of affect on him. She would likely be mortified.

Faster than Ron even knew he could move he had picked up and placed all the glass shards on the table again.

"I should go. Thank you for the drink Natasha," he said practically running for the door.

Everything happened so fast after Natasha gave Ron that kiss, not expecting this sort of reaction. She was dumbfounded, perplexed and shocked. Ron was out the door before she could even say he didn't do anything wrong, and her brain was just catching up with her mouth, "Ron wait!" moving to the door. He was gone. She looked at her outfit, went back inside to change.

Cleaned up the mess on the table, then sat down to think things over. Natasha really liked Ron, very much, she knew he was shy. Come to think of it, he was very, very, painfully shy. Should she hunt him down, probably not right at this moment. He probably needed to have a moment or three, to calm down. However there was one thing she could do.

"Computer, where is Lieutenant Ron Bumble?"

"Lieutenant Ron Bumble is travelling quickly corridor J34," came the reply.

Natasha lips went into a thin determined line, looked like she was going to have to go after Ron, can't let things go to the way side, and she was also wondering if she scared Ron? Natasha went out of her quarters and hastened her pace after Ron getting the computer to tell her where he was at and just how close she was getting to him.

Ron made a mad dash back to his quarters, locking the door firmly behind him. What should he do? Cold shower and speak to Michael. Yes Hawkins and maybe his cousin. He had “bumbled” things up nicely now.

Not long afterwards, Natasha found her way to Ron's quarters. She rang the chime, actually pounded on the door as well. "Ron, please we need to talk. Did I do something wrong?" she put her back against the door, to wait and hopefully he'll open it.

Ron's back was also against the door. What did he do? He couldn't move. Couldn't speak.

Taking a deep breath, then letting it out slowly Natasha contemplated on the current state of things. Could she have moved to fast? How shall she let Ron know that she was interested in him romantically. That she found him attractive, calming, exciting, brilliant! Natasha sat on the floor in front of Ron's door, pulling out her Padd and began a message to him. Making it a recording for the computer to send.

"My dearest Ron, I must apologize for coming on too strong in showing my affection for you. I had forgotten that you may not be used to this sort of attention. I must confess though, that I feel a strong attraction towards you, like a strong magnet pulling a piece of iron or steel towards it. I just can't seem to help myself. You calm me when you are around, you excite me as well. You intrigue me and I find you attractive, and precious, like a rare archeological treasure that was hidden away. Hidden away until just a tiny ray of sunshine revealed the secret passage or the hidden door and the discovery is found. Please Ron, let me get to know you more. If you do not want kisses then I will refrain from them, even though I find your lips to be gentle, warm and magnificent. I love the touch of your hand, and the embrace that you gave me. I await your answer. We can converse like this if you'd like. Love, Natasha. P.S. I am willing to be outside your door, and exchange messages with you."

To the computer Natasha gave this request. "Computer please play this message to Lt. Ron Bumble in his quarters."

Ron was nearly hyperventilating. What did he do? What did he do?

He wasn't sure what came over him but he found himself rising and pressing the chime on his door.

As the door opened to reveal the goddess that was his former XO. Natasha, he just acted on instinct and pulled her into him placing his lips on hers.

Natasha was surprised, being pulled into Ron's quarters, but she wasn't going to fight it. The door closed behind her, she giving in to his kiss, her arms wrapping around him. Natasha returned his kiss, her hand running up his back to his hair, caressing and enjoying the softness of it. When she had to take a breath, Natasha pulled her lips away from his, merely a fraction from them. She looked over towards the bed, then looked at him, gave a smile and began kissing him again. Gently guiding him towards the bed, to where they could sit down upon it.

“I’m … l’m ….” Ron looked nervously around. They were on his bed. He swallowed loudly, not wanting to ruin anything. He could hear His cousin in his mind screaming Keep kissing the girl. “That was my first kiss,” he blurted out sheepishly.

"And it was exquisite." Natasha responded, with a smile. "I think you are a natural at kissing. Before, I've been the one kissing you and that kiss just a few moments before, was sublime. I didn't want to stop kissing you but, I needed to catch my breath as you took it away." reaching out and caressing his cheek.

Ron smile and tried to relax. "I think .." he cleared his throat. "As much as I enjoyed ... really enjoyed that I need to do this properly. Be a gentleman. Take you on a date ...." he was really out on the ledge now. "First. Then the kissing."

Natasha nodded, with a gentle smile. "However you wish, Ron. And you are a gentleman, and I would love to go on a date or dates with you on our journey of romance or love or more." her cheeks turning a dark pink, but her eyes were sparkling with joy. "I probably need to get going, though I don't want to. It would probably be rather prudent if I did so." running her hand down to his hand and raising it up to her lips, kissing the back of his fingers. Natasha moved in for an embrace, then released Ron. "I'll just.. see myself out okay?" moving from off the bed.

Ron froze for a moment. When did he get to see her again? He tried to channel Michael. What would Michael do? Be incredibly suave for sure.

"Natasha wait. Do you like the arbetorum? Would you like a walk maybe later. About 8? I hear they have some ....." his brain fished around trying to lock on to anything he could remember ... "some Betazoid lunar roses that are quite the thing to see when they open up."

Michael would bring a picnic he settled. He would prepare something.

Natasha turned around to look at Ron, her eyes questioning and hopeful, "I do like the Arboretum, very much and the Lunar Roses are getting ready to bloom?" her expressive eyes widened at his mention of the Betazoid Lunar Roses. "Oh my, yes please I'll be ready! I've heard about them but haven't had the chance to see any bloom." she beamed at the invitation. "Oh that would be so delightful Ron, thank you!"

He smiled. This felt wonderful. The woman he adored wanted to spend time with him. Kiss him. "I will see you later then," he walked her to the door and placed a further kiss on her cheek.

Natasha's eyes slightly widened, and blushed prettily at his gentle kiss. It gave her such a thrill for him to be feeling bold enough to do such. "Yes, I will see you later, at eight o clock. I will be waiting. " smiling as she stepped out of his quarters. "And thank you Ron." when the door closed behind her leaving her outside of his quarters, Natasha gave herself an embrace feeling rather ecstatic at this turn of events. He was so adorable and she was definitely falling for him even more.

Ron watched the door shut and his smile started to fade. "I gotta talk to Michael ...."
