Mission: Mission 3 - Whom gods destroy ...
Location: Observation Port
Timeline: Prior to "Getting There"
354 words - 0.7 OF Standard Post Measure

True found Tia in one of the observation spots that the families on board the ship were allowed to visit without entering a restricted area. "Hi," She said sitting down and hoping the girl wouldn't flee again. True could see the glisten of tears in the girls eyes. "I'm sorry Tia, we didn't mean to make it sound like it was your fault that this happened. No one blames you, you had absolutely no control over it."

Tia nodded but didn't say anything right away. "Is Eddie mad?" She finally asked.

"Not at you," True could say with a clear conscious. "He might be confused, embarrassed too but not angry. I don't think anger is an emotion that comes easily to him. It was just a lot to take in. And I think he's a little upset with his father for insinuating that you two did more than just hold hands."

"I told the truth, I just grabbed his hand to lead him out of the lounge, I didn't think about it honestly and I didn't know this would happen."

"I know," True assured her. She reached out and touched a strand of the girl's hair. She really had the most gorgeous locks. "Not your fault, remember? Things just happen sometimes and they're out of our control. But, it's how we respond to them that really counts. I think that you should give yourself some time to heal and then you should seek out Eddie. You might be surprised at what happens."

"You think he'd be friends with me?" Tia asked, her voice more steady now.

"Yes, I do. Eddie's very accepting of people. I really think you two can get over this embarrassment and go back to being good friends, perhaps even partners in having a pet."

"I want to try it," Tia decided wholeheartedly.

"Good," True said standing up. "I'll leave you to figure out where to start that conversation. Stay here as long as you like," and she left the room.
