ON:

Amelia had to break into a run to catch up with Syvar. She caught him just as they reached the turbolift.

"And where do you think you're going?" she asked him, then answered her own question. "If you're thinking of heading to the brig, I don't think that's a good idea but, the way you hurried away made me think you're going to do something impulsive. You're not are you?"

"I don't know," Syvar answered, avoiding to look at her. He stepped inside and ordered the desired deck number without really thinking about it. "I was planning on going home," he added, leaning back against the wall. "I don't want to defy the Captain's orders but... I don't know."

She looked at him skeptically. "Well then, I'll escort you back to your quarters then. Just to make sure you get there safely." As she had been talking to him, she didn't realise that he had not ordered the correct deck for his quarters but the deck for the Brig instead.

When the turbolift stopped and the door opened she stuck her head out of the doors and looked into the corridor, confused. "This isn't the correct deck is it now? Shall we try again?"

Syvar stepped out, clearly hesitating. He took a few tentative steps towards the brig, and it was obvious an inner battle was raging. "I don't want to," he said, though he didn't specify what, exactly.

"Come on Syvar," She said gently "let's get you back to your quarters." She then placed her hand on his shoulder.

The Vulcan froze, turning his head to look at the hand on his shoulder. It wasn't quite where her mirror had touched him, but it was close. "I don't want to," he whispered, "please don't touch me." He seemed absent though as he spoke. "I don't want to...please."

She frowned but tried to keep her tone light, but here was en edge creeping into her voice. She wanted to respect his wishes but also she was getting slightly tired of being given the runaround. She reluctantly lifted her hand slightly but kept it hovered over his shoulder. "I'm afraid I must insist Syvar. I could make it an order."

As she lifted her hand, Syvar shied away from her, starting towards the brig. At first his pace was hesitant and he glanced over his shoulder just once. He was torn, and it showed on his face. Looking back, his pace started to increase.

"Right, that's it!" She said out loud. She walked up to him and clamped her hand down on his shoulder, hard.

"It's time to go back to your quarters. Now!"

Syvar whirled around, pushing her away. "Don't touch me!" He cried out, as he started to back away from her until his back struck the wall. "Leave me alone."

She moved closer to him to prevent him from running. “Look. I’m trying to help you here! Seeing her is not an option. Your putting your career in jeopardy. You must see that Syvar." Her temper was starting to rise but so was something else. Her heart was racing and she was mere inches from him. Memories at the back of her mind... his memories. Suddenly, before she knew what she was doing she kissed him. She stopped and moved back slightly, shocked at what she had just done. “I’m sorry I don’t know why....”

Eyes wide, he stared at her, a mix of shock and fear on his face. Yet, something was different. "I know why," he whispered, making no move to walk away. "You saw her do it... But... Different." He shook his head. "It's not the same..." The kiss felt different and he cast her a curious look now. "I.." He remained tense, as he looked at her, anxious for her next move.

She was breathless. "It's more than that..." The memory had added fuel to the fire but it was now something she wanted. He was what she wanted.
She looked at him and there was fire in her eyes. Almost exactly like the way she had looked at him. But there was more in her look than there had been in her mirror counterpart.
There was passion... and compassion. There was a need to be held... and to hold. A need to be healed... and to heal. To be loved... and to love.

Without another word, she melted against him and kissed him again.

It certainly felt different as she melted against him, feeling her hands in his hair, not roughly tugging at it but gently combing through it. He closed his eyes, allowing the different sensations to wash over him.

The door next to they had stopped was a vacant crew quarters. She opened it and led him in by the hand. Her voice a soft whisper. "Be with me... please..."

Please... That word made all the difference. He remained silent, and a little tense as he watched her. He looked down at the hand that held his. Instead of pulling back, he held out his other hand to her, drawing her to him.

Strong arms wrapped around her as he held her to his chest. "This isn't wise," he murmured as he buried his face against her hair, noting the difference in scent. "We shouldn't..."

The room was not lived in and had not much furniture. But, there was a bed and she led him to it. She pressed one finger gently to his lips. “Shhhhhh. No more words.” She gently started to remove his suit, taking care to run her hands over each part of him as she did, as if just her touch could remove all the pain and hurt he was feeling.

His eyes traveled from the bed to her, and back to the bed as he allowed himself to be undressed. Her mannerisms were so different, so much more gentle. It allowed him to relax a little, though he gasped as she ran her hands across his body, unable to suppress a giggle as she went across his sides. Reaching, he moved to undo her dress. Finally, he eased himself down on the bed, and drew her down with him. "We shouldn't," he whispered, "it's wrong..."

She moulded her body to his “Nothing about this is wrong. This is about you and me.” She ran her hands over his chest and down his arms, now turning her attention to his hands. She gently removed the gloves slowly, letting them drop to the floor. As each one came off, she raised that hand to her lips and kissed each finger tip in turn. While she was doing this, she traced a line up his arm to his face, brushing her fingers over his lips, nose and around his ears. “Please.... put your hands on me...”

"I..." Syvar writhed under her touch, but he did reach up to touch her. He closed his eyes as he willed himself to focus on her caresses, her words of comfort and the sensations flowing through his body.

The next morning, 0630Hrs

Amelia was awake. She could hear and feel his breathing next to her and she moved closer to the warm of his body and stated running her hands down his arm. She spoke gently “Good morning.”

Startled, Syvar opened his eyes and stared at the woman lying next to him. He gasped at the realization that she was as naked as he was, and marveled at the same time at the warmth of her body against his. His breathing tempo increased for a moment, though he managed to bring it back under control. "Hi.." he managed as he still tried to connect last night's dots. "Where are we?"

Amelia looked around for a moment then nestled back where she had been and sighed. “Looks like some unused quarters so I don’t think we’re going to be disturbed.”

With impeccable timing the comm system chirped. “Lieutenant Fox, this is ensign Phillips. I was assigned to keep an eye Ensign Syvar and I lost track of him last night. But I saw you following him. Should I contact the Captain?”

She sat up. “No Phillips. I know where the Doctor is And I will take personal responsibility for his whereabouts. Don’t bother the Captain with this, I’ll inform him if and when necessary. Just wait outside his quarters. Fox out.”

She lay back down and stated running her hands over his chest. “Now, where were we? I Believe we were right here.”

He lay perfectly still though his breathing increased a little. "I don't know where we are," he countered softly, now raising his hand to caress her cheek. "What a mess this is..." He recalled wanting to go to the brig, then being diverted to wherever this was exactly. Yet, he felt different. This felt different.

Watching her expression closely, he lifted his head up to kiss her. "How do you feel?" He asked, even though he could guess.

Amelia responded to his touch and then let out a content sigh. “I feel just right and what mattered about where I am right now is that you’re here with me.” She called our “Computer, what is the time?”

The computer replied “0635Hrs”

She resumed gently rubbing his chest. “I don’t have to be on duty for another hour and a half.” She looked at him “ How do you feel?”

"Odd," he replied honestly, "afraid this is all a dream. That I'll wake up and your mirror is about to torture me for falling asleep..." He paused. "I feel conflicted, but all the same, for the moment I feel content." He sighed as she touched him. "If you continue like this, you may not be on time for your shift..."

She smiled playfully at him “Well, one good thing about being first officer is you get so set the duty rosta. Now then, let’s see what we can do about those conflicted feelings.” She added with a twinkle in her eye.
