Timeline: MD6, early morning

Feeling a little better, but still not altogether as he should feel, Syvar was sitting up in his bed, sheets pulled up to his chest. He was watching the tiny rat which lay curled up in his lap, its tiny ears occasionally twitching. He looked up at the sound of approaching footsteps, his expression brightening as Amelia approached.

Having been informed that Syvar was conscious again, Amelia had come straight down to see him. She came over to his bedside and took his hand. "Hey there. How are you feeling?"

"Sore... bruised... trampled..." Syvar squeezed the hand that held his. "And you?" Concern filled his bright green eyes as he seemed to study her head to toe. "I heard she got you too... are you alright? And the baby?"

She gently ruffled his hair and smiled lovingly at him. "I'm fine. The baby's fine too. There was no lasting damage. She also went after Aidan and his wife and had a run-in with the Captain's son and his friend." Her smile faded slightly. "If she had done anything to you I would never forgive her and wound have hunted her down but, I'm afraid I don't believe I will get the chance to settle that score. The shuttle she stole on exploded. I wish I could say she's gone for good but she's too clever for that... At least for now, she's gone. Maybe It's for the best. It sounds like the Cetea cut all contact with her and have made a new ally."

She took a deep breath. "I'm just glad that you're ok. Do you think the Doctor will release you from sickbay soon?"

"I will never forgive her for what she did to me," Syvar answered thinly, "she nearly killed me, several times. The things she made me do.." He bit his lower lip, leaning into the hand that touched his face. "She came here, and shot me. I remember falling and then nothing. I remember Michael visiting me when I woke up and I felt really tired, something was pulling at me."

He paused. "Did Michael tell you, about the healing fever? He woke me last night..." It had been a painful situation even if it had been a necessary one. Briefly, he outlined what happened, not wanting her to feel guilty about it. "What did I miss?"

Amelia shook her head. "Fever? No. It sounds intense. Mind you, you were pretty out of it when I saw you last time so I suppose it makes sense. Well, after my Mirror counterpart shot you and shot me, she went onto shoot Aidan and his wife. She shot Eddie and Tia and stole a shuttlecraft which promptly exploded. We've had our first shot at the planet killer which didn't go so great. I've been off duty in our quarters but I've been keeping up on bridge activity." She paused before tentatively asking "I know I asked before but you were pretty out of it so I'm not sure if you were coherent. Do you remember showing me your family home while we were both unconscious?"

Carefully, the Vulcan shook his head. "No I'm sorry love, I don't have any recollection of anything after passing out. Not until I woke up after surgery and starting to feel worse when I really shouldn't." He worked himself up into a more sitting position, earning himself a squeak from Ratty as she was unsettled in his lap. "her shuttle exploded?" A brief look of sadness crossed his features. "She's gone?"

Amelia nodded slowly and petted Ratty to calm her down from being dislodged from her comfortable position. "She deliberately overloaded the shuttle's impulse engines. There was nothing left. I can't help shake this feeling at the back of my mind that she will be back somehow. As I said, She's too smart. But, I hope I'm wrong." Her face brightened as she pushed those thoughts from her mind. "I met up with Melody the last night. She wants us all to meet up for a meal together. Of course, it will have to wait until you've got your strength back."

"I want to go home." He paused, visibly fidgeting. "I don't feel sorry for her but her baby... it didn't deserve this." He bit his lip, almost to the point of bloody. "I want to go home," he repeated, "I don't want to stay here. I can't stay here, please I want to go home."

Amelia nodded "Let me talk to the Doctor. I'm sure he can be persuaded to let you recover in our quarters. You'll be more comfortable there."

There was an anxiety in his eyes as she got up to go talk to the doctor. It took every ounce of self control he possessed to not grab her hand and make her stay with him. Instead, he focused on the little creature in his lap, finding some comfort in stroking her fur.

After a few moments, Amelia came back with a smile on her face. "I've spoken with one of the medical staff and yes, you can return to our quarters. You're also off duty for the next couple of days so you can recover and I've got to keep an eye on you and inform them of any change."

"I can live with that," Syvar answered, even if he never was able to sit idle for very long.

She took his hand once again. "Come on let's get you home." she said softly to him and then a little louder "Computer Initiate site to site transport program Fox-1. Authorization Alpha 1 3 9 9 5." Then added with a wink "I made some preparations, just in case."
