Although not her fault, Amelia still felt somewhat responsible for the actions of mirror Fox. She knew Emmony and her baby were ok but if anything had happened to them...

It had been a few days since the incident, so Amelia decided it was time. With one present for Emmony and one for the baby in hand she stood outside Aidan and Emmony's quarters and pressed the chime.

Rather than yell out "Come in" with a sleeping baby in her arms, Emme moved toward the door and pressed the button. "Commander," she said when the door open. The child didn't move or respond at all but kept on in a deep sleep.

Amelia stepped in. "Hello Emmony. I thought I would come and see how you are doing and how your baby is." She looked at the sleeping child in her arms. "Welcome on board sweetheart. This is for you" She gestured to the soft cuddly bear she was carrying. "And this is for you," she said to Emmony as she placed a gift-wrapped bottle on the table. "IS it a boy or a girl?" She asked as she had left sickbay before Aidan's question had been answered.

A bit stunned by the sudden attention it finally dawned on her why she was visiting. "Oh, thank you. You didn't have to do that. Girl," Emmony finally answered her. "Her name is Saeri." She set the bear temporarily on top of the sleeping child and walked to the couch to sit down and open the gift. "Come in."

"I'm glad you're both safe," Amelia said, still looking at the baby. "I was worried that my mirror counterpart had caused.... complications."

"I hope you're not feeling guilty. This wasn't on you and we're both fine. She arrived just a bit early but seems perfectly healthy and happy despite her unique entrance."

"She beautiful Emmony. You're right and I keep telling myself that but at the back of my mind she had the same face as me," Amelia confessed and sighed. "The things that she did were unforgivable and she died by her own actions yet she was able to fool everyone into thinking she was me for while..."

She took a deep breath "This entire mirror universe thing gives me a headache." She looked at Emmony "As I said, I'm just glad you're both ok." Her hand flew to her mouth as a wave of nausea passed over her.

"We probably all have mirror counterparts out there and who knows what they might do. You just happened to get to meet yours unfortunately." Emme looked at her more closely. "Are you all right?"

Amelia nodded slowly as the wave of nausea passed. "I'm ok but, I hope this passes quickly. I've found that mint tea helps. Did you find anything that helped? I must admit, I'm going to miss alcohol and coffee" She took a deep breath and tied to relax her shoulders. "The Captain seems to think I won't be able to lead any away missions in my condition. I think it's just a ruse so he can go on more of them and leave me on the bridge."

Emme chuckled. From what she knew of him it did sound like something he would do. "Actually I found a Vulcan breathing technique that helped, I'll send it to you. But it will pass eventually regardless. Would you like some tea?"

“A Vulcan breathing technique?” Amelia mused. “I’m sure Syvar will be happy to show me that and yes I would love some mint tea. It will help settle my stomach. I was also telling Syvar that he better be good at massages. Apparently, when my mother was expecting it was the only thing that stopped her going berserk with my father.“

"I guess I'm lucky. I didn't really find it all that uncomfortable, once I got past the first three months. Sit," She went to the replicator one handed and delivered a cup of tea to her guest. "Would you like anything for it, sugar? Milk? Actually, you know what. Do you want to hold her while I get myself something?" Without waiting for an answer she deposited the sleeping infant into the other woman's arms.

Amelia took hold of the baby gently and nestled her in the crooks of her arm, trying not to wake her. The baby shifted slightly but stayed fast asleep. "Just as it comes will be fine thanks." She said in a soft voice. She looked at the baby for a moment. "You know, She looks a bit like Aidan."

"Yes," Emme grinned. "She has his hair and his nose. And she has my eyes and temperament I swear. When are you due? Do you know the sex?" Emme sat down with her own cup of hot chocolate and didn't bother taking the baby back seeing that she was content.

Amelia rocked Saeri gently in her arms. "I'm only about 5 weeks along but somehow... I know it's going to be a girl. After my mirror counterpart shot me I had some kind of.... vision or hallucination where I saw Syvar and somehow I knew then that the baby was fine. I know it sounds silly but it felt so real...."

"Nah, not at all. I think a lot of women just know what they are going to have. I wasn't absolutely certain but I thought Saeri was a girl, in fact subconsciously I started calling her 'she'. Women are intelligent creatures in touch with their bodies and emotions. Doesn't sound silly to me at all."

As if hearing her name, the small bundle in Amelia's arms opened her eyes. She looked up at Amelia with the baby equivalent expression of 'And you are?'

Amelia chuckled. "I think someone is awake and has worked out I'm not you." Saeri didn't seem to mind being held by Amelia. Amelia suddenly sniffed the air and wrinkled her nose. "oh dear. I think we have a present for someone in our nappy, don't we little one?"

"At least she likes you." When Amelia remarked about the baby needing changed Emme stood up. "I'll take her. You're going to get enough practice at that soon enough." Emme scooped up her daughter and headed for the bedroom.

Amelia handed Saeri back to Emmony. "Would you like a hand? I suppose I better get used to this." She asked.

Emme considered it for a moment. "If you'd like." She gestured for her to follow her into the other room. "You'll be great," Emme assured her. "At being a mom I mean. You already help run a great ship." She smiled at her encouragingly.

Amelia stood and rolled her sleeves up. "Thanks. That's why they give me all the dirty jobs." She replies wryly as she took a deep breath and followed Emmony in.
