======================================
There was a sense of excitement in the air and Ethan learned of the away teams going down to the planet below. He had asked the computer where Rose was at, and found that she was on the bridge. That made her the one in command of the ship for the time being. He made his way to the bridge. When the door opened, he looked at her, seated in the command chair. Walking over quietly to where she was he said softly,

"You look good in that chair. Reporting for duty, if you'd like my help." Ethan remarked.

At the moment there was a skeleton crew manning the stations.

"thanks Lieutenant, I could use you on tactical. I need someone with a discerning eye on the sensors just incase something happens down there"

Ethan nodded and took his place at tactical. "I wonder if they have been able to get the equipment working down there. And hopefully a transporter area. It in some essence makes me a little bit uneasy if there isn't a way to to get them off the planet in case of emergency."

Rose gave a sigh, “you’re not helping Ethan, I’ve been trying to come up with an idea of how to recover the away teams. We don’t have the shuttles or the transporters, and I can’t land the ship”

"There is the Captain's personal ship, I don't remember what it is called. For emergency that could be used. I trust though that our Engineer, Michael Hawkins will be able to figure out something. I've heard rumors that he is a capable man." Ethan replied.

“I hope you’re right, the Captain’s Yacht May be a good idea”

"We might also need to see who is on staff for Security, as well as engineering staff. Just to keep updated." he looked on the PADD and hmmned. "It looks like we have had some new transfers security wise. I wonder if the Captain had a chance to talk with them. Wouldn't you think we'd need to investigate on that too?"

Rose shook her head, "not right now, we need to focus on the away team for now. Get a message to engineering, put priority on getting the away team back"

"We've got an Lieutenant (jg) Oliver Stevens who's a transporter specialist, I wonder if Hawkins has gotten in touch with him yet." Ethan mused. He looked at Rose, "Want me to contact him and ask?"

After a moment, Rose nodded, "go ahead"

"Lieutenant Steven's would you come to the bridge please?" Ethan requested.

"Stevens. I'll be right there," came the male voice back.

Oliver had never been summoned to the bridge. This was quite exciting. He stepped out from the turbolift. "Lieutenant Stevens reporting."

"And perhaps we could have bring security up here as well, as a consult. Sound good, Lieutenant Belikov? Would probably be good to have someone in security to come up and run tactical. This way we can have the bases covered." Ethan remarked.

Ethan gave Stevens a nod in acknowledgement. "Thank you for coming."

“Ah Lieutenant, I have quite the riddle for you” Rose said, turning to Oliver, “I have two away teams on the planet below and I need to get them back, but at present I cannot use the transporters or send another shuttle. Do you think you could help me out with this problem?”

While Rose was talking to Stevens, Ethan sent off a message to Ensign Page, "Please report to the bridge." figuring out that they really needed to have security included in this dialogue. Got to know who they were working together with.

Oliver shook his head. "You can't unless you well sorry maam unless you have the power of the Q or some friends with another vessel can help you. I think really more information is needed here. What is preventing the away team getting back?" he asked. He was curious especially as Xu was down there.

Moments later the turbolift doors at the rear of the bridge parted, stepping through was a young man, tall, lean with a trimmed beard, not the most cheerful looking soul. He could see the Command area was already in discussion so he moved over to the Tactical Station, assuming that was why he had been called.
"I think I was called to relieve you Lieutenant!"

“A possible infection or some kind of effect is influencing the away teams. They’ve already got two shuttles down there and it seems we can’t transport through the atmosphere”

Ethan stepping in as acting XO looked at Page, "Actually, was wanting to get your input for possible situation solutions. With our senior most security personnel, being planetside, we wanted to figure out ways to go get them, just in case."

Axel's mind raced, having not been keeping himself a breast of planetside developments he found himself on the back foot. "I'm sorry sir's, I have not been following the reports... What's stopping us transporting them off the surface?"

Just then there is a crackling sound from communications,

=^= This is Lieutenant Hawkins to the USS Andromeda."

=^="No that isn't right, its Sir Michael of Hawkins.=^=

=^="This is Sir Michael of Hawkins, Andromeda, can you read me? Or see me?"=^= Michael doing some adjusting hoping that there would be some image coming in.

=^=Sir Michael , you need your steel helmet on.=^= Muriel hissed at him.

=^=Muriel, I don't want to do so.=^= A grainy image of Michael with a metal colander strainer on his head could be seen.

"The atmosphere is not transporter friendly," Oliver told the new comer. "They had to go down in shuttles. Hawkins why do you sound to have a child with you?"

Someone had to ask the question, Oliver mused it might as well be him.

Michael was almost shoved aside when a woman with messy blonde hair with blue ribbons and bows in it, peered into the viewscreen.

=^=Hi I am Muriel, and wow there are three fairy princes in there, its going to be difficult to choose which one I am going to marry!=^=

Michael moved her to one side briefly, =^=Sorry, that is Muriel, she is one of the people here at the outpost. She's an example of what is going on here. I think she is an engineer, and I had to go find the pattern enhancers to hopefully make it to where we can do some transporting.=^=

Before Hawkins could go any further, Muriel jumped on his back, =^=I want a horsey ride!=^=

"Maam," Oliver addressed the Intel chief. "Permission to draw a little more juice from the grid so to speak," Oliver asked. "I think we can try somethings if Hawkins can get some pattern boosters set up but we are going to need extra power.

I'll get someone in Engineering with me too. Have to do this slowly so not to over work any circuits. Be aware though this is outside the parameters of what they like us working within. But I see no other choice. With your permission?"

Rose nodded, “alright, a little more. So long as essential systems aren’t effected” she said, trusting they knew what they were doing.

Oliver cocked an eyebrow at the latest thing the woman with Hawkins was saying and started running his hands over a console bringing up a layout of the colony. Or what they knew of it. "Hawkins, I'm going to try send you down a map of where I think best to place those boosters then try do some diagnostics and testing to see if we can get it working," the transporter specialist stated. "I'll need you to be around when we get to that stage"

=^=Muriel it will have to wait."=^= Hawkins said to the woman on his back.

=^=No, now, or I won't show you where the other thingy boosters are, they are a hexygonal doohicky that makes people sparkle and disappear too.=^=

Hawkins looked at Oliver, =^=Get hold of Ensign Riley Ames, he's in engineering, he will be able to help you out. And I will be around when we get to that stage. And do you think that the civilian pattern boosters will work along with the others?=^=

“I guess it’s possible” Rose said, looking to Oliver.

"Anything is possible Maam," Oliver said simply. He certainly hoped so as he was getting concerned for Xu and Jon now.

=^=I'll also see about making a scan of the outpost to add to the map you send me, this way we can have more up to date information. =^= he grimaced when Muriel decided to use her heel to dig in his side.

=^=Giddyup Fix it Man." Muriel said impatiently.

=^=I'll send you a message when I get the other boosters found. Then coordinate with you and the map. =^= he looked over his shoulder to where Muriel was at hanging on him still. =^=Okay, let's get going. =^= then looked at those on the bridge. =^=Any message you'd like me to pass along? =^=

Oliver debated for a moment asking him to tell Xu to be careful but she could handle herself and might not appreciate his worry. So he kept silent instead.

=^=No sir. I'll get started on things my end.=^=

=^="Sounds good, hopefully we will find some answers to the puzzle or puzzles we are facing. Hawkins out."=^= the view screen going blank.

"Well then, at least we've got some form of contact. Whatever is going on down there, is definitely a bit concerning." Ethan remarked. "While Hawkins is working on his project to find the other transporter boosters. We'll either keep monitoring things up here? Stevens will be working on his end of getting that map to Hawkins and.. well.." looking at Rose and the others. " What say you Lieutenant Belikov? Suggestions, Ideas?" he looked at the others. Best thing he could do was toss out some ideas of his own.

Rose sighed, “damn it, why couldn’t we have just found a nice friendly class M planet for my first command” she mumbled to herself before looking around at the crew, “for now I want all efforts focused on getting out people back. Everyone work with your people and get me some answers.”
