ON:

Having met the Captain informally last night, Amelia decided to meet some of the other senior officers before her meeting with Johnathan later that morning.

Naiya Hope was barely through the airlocks and inside the ship before she had found her way straight to Sickbay and begun assessing her "territory". She had found it not nearly as ready as she had hoped it might have been and immediately started to get organised, donning an overall and getting her belongings sent up to her quarters with a junior, in order to free herself to get stuck straight in.

With the assistance of the station computer, Amelia has located the new Doctor onboard the Andromeda in sickbay and she made her way other there. Stepping inside she found a young woman with red brown hair assessing the layout. “Ah Dr Hope I presume.” Amelia said hold out her hand.

"The very same" Naiya replied with a wide smile. She was trying to work out in her head who this might be but as she'd already met the CO and she knew from the data PaDD she'd been sent with her assignment instructions and information, this woman of much her own age and similar brown hair and green eyes, fitted the description of the XO and the Lieutenant pips on her collar confirmed this assumption. She decided to hazard a guess.

"Lieutenant Fox if I may make a presumption of my own, Ma'am?" she accepted the hand the XO had proffered and shook it with a firm but not heavy or oppressive grip. "Pleased to meet you"

"You presume correct Doctor." Amelia replied. "I hope the facilities meet your expectations and requirements."

"Well they will do, Ma'am. In a short time and with some effort to get that installations and unpacking organized. We're just a little behind the optimum readiness status right now but a little bit of elbow grease and some enthusiasm should fix that shortly." Hope said with not a small amount of positivity and optimism over and above that which she actually felt but refused to admit so early in the timeline.

"It's a pleasure to be here. This is a commission that I value very much and I'm looking forward to all challenges." She added.

Amelia nodded "Exploring the Beta quadrant should be an interesting mission. Certainly not a quick run around the block The crew is certainly a interesting group as well. I understand we've got a Reman security chief and a Soliodaran engineer. I've never severed with either race before, you?"

"No, I'd never met either before either, let alone served with them." Naiya admitted freely. "I do like to find out more about other species though. It's fascinating to see what is similar and what differs from what I have seen and treated before. The more species I can help the better I get with my skills and diagnoses. That's the beauty of a job like mine."

Amelia idly picked up a hypospray and began twirling it in her hands. "I bet you've got interesting tales about the alien races you've treated. I had the unique experience of assisting in the delivery of a pregnant Gorn when I was in the Academy. Triplets! And let me tell you, those little monsters bite!"

Naiya laughed. "I don't doubt it!" she agreed. "Mind you, I once met someone who had delivered a Tellerite baby. Only the one but the mother was as grumpy as a nest of wasps once disturbed. So it could have been worse".

Amelia placed the hypospray back down. "Well, I'll let you get back to your work Doctor. It was a pleasure to meet you. I assume you'll be at the reception this evening?

"Yes of course, and it was lovely to meet you too, thank you for coming out of your way to look me up. I appreciate that." Naiya replied with a broad genuine smile.

Amelia smiled. "I'll see you this evening then." And with that she turned and headed out of sickbay.
