ON:

"Hello?" Eddie said as the entered sickbay. He could sense staff about before seeing them. "We need a doctor please."

Turning upon the child's entrance, Syvar smiled at him. "I'm Syvar, what can I do for you?"

"I feel funny, dizzy. Out of sorts," Tia didn't really know how to explain it. "Maybe I have a weird flu or something."


"Hmm..." Syvar gestured to one of the beds. "Well then," he said, "hop on up and we'll have a look at you. Can you tell me your name?"

"Amiltia Hawkins," Tia blushed, she didn't know if Eddie knew her full name. No one called her Amiltia except when she was in trouble. It wasn't that she didn't like it, it was just kind of personal to her. Not everyone got to use it.

"Alright Amiltia, please lie down on the bed," Syvar instructed, then took out his tricorder, detaching the scanning wand. "Do you know what this is?" he asked, showing both items to the children in front of him.

"Yes," Tia said. She'd been examined before in sickbay, when she first came on board. She wasn't afraid, she was only afraid of what might be wrong with her and wondered if someone had called her mom.

"Don't worry sweetie, we will find out what ails you," Syvar promised as he ran the wand across her body. "Can you list me your symptoms again, and how long you've been experiencing them for?"

"Fatigue, dizziness, just a feeling of being unwell, I can't really describe it. For some reason I felt better when I took Eddie's hand, as if my symptoms weren't weird enough. About a half hour or so maybe?"

Syvar cast her a curious look. "You felt better when you took his hand?" he queried, looking over at Eddie. "Do you have some kind of healing powers young man?"

“Ermmmm not that I’m aware of,” Eddie said confused. This was strange.

"Hmm..." Syvar closed his tricorder. "Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary in the last few hours? Anything that, perhaps, you shouldn't have?"

"No, I don't think so. I had some ice cream but I was already feeling weird before I ate that. I just hadn't told anyone." Tia turned her head to look at Eddie. She'd kept her gaze straight at the ceiling so far.

Glancing at the monitor, he raised an eyebrow. her readings seemed to spike when her attention was on the boy. So he turned his attention to him too. "Eddie, wasn't it?" he asked, "could you step closer to the bed for me for a moment?"

"Yes Doctor," the blond hybrid nodded. He moved closer to the biobed.

"You don't think it was the cat or the mooncake do you?" he asked Tia.

"No, I don't know why those things would do anything to me." Tia answered. The doctor seemed to have figured something out though, Tia knew that look. It was one of understanding.

A cat... That explained the funny feeling he'd been experiencing for the past minutes. Syvar briefly closed his eyes as he tried to suppress a sneeze. "Eddie I need you to go over in the next room please for a little while. Amiltia I need you to stay here while quickly call your parents..." He turned away fast as he no longer could suppress another sneeze. "I'll be right back."

"Okay," Tia said wincing." Her mother was going to freak out, she just knew it. "Sorry about this Eddie," She said as he got up to leave the room.

Briefly gazing over his shoulder to make sure the young man was doing as he was told, Syvar entered his office and placed the call to the girl's parents. Self-treatment would have to wait until this matter had been cleared up. He sneezed again as the call connected.

"No worries," the blonde called over his shoulder. "I hope your okay. I'll just be here."
