ON:

Amelia slowly opened her eyes. She picked herself up off the floor and looked around. There was nothing as far as she could see. it was like a white void. No sound, no movement, nothing.....

She thought back, what had happened. Oh, God! She had shot her!

She finally spoke aloud "Great! I'm Dead!"

"If you are, then I'm too..." The disembodied voice of her Vulcan mate answered. His expression was one of agony, his green eyes bright with pain.

"Syvar!" At the sound of his voice, she called out to him. Spinning around, she finally saw him and ran over to him, throwing her arms around him. "Are you alright? What is this place?" She asked, her attention focused on him.

The white void materialized in what seemed like a kind of forest at the edge of a small property. The trees resembled eucalyptus trees, and the sounds of various birds singing and screeching could be heard. "Home," the young doctor answered tightly, "my home." He carefully shook his head, as if to clear it. "If we're here.... then I'm not alright. How can you be here?"

She smiled at him and placed her hand on his cheek "My love, I don't even know where here is...." She looked around then back to him. "You're not alright what.... Mirror Fox! She got into our quarters. She said she had paid you a visit, wanted to hurt you, and......." Her eyes went wide and panic took over her face "THE BABY!" She stopped and looked down. Slowly, as if almost afraid as to what would happen, She gently placed a hand on her stomach.

"Woah!" Amelia suddenly became unsteady and she rocked on her feet, then a look of complete calm washed over her features. She looked at Syvar and spoke quietly, in a daze "She's fine. I know that...."

She suddenly blinked as she snapped out of whatever that had been. "Wait... What happened then?"

"She?" Syvar turned his head, leaning into her touch. "Here is my home on Earth, where I grew up... I will take you there, when we next dock at Earth." He paused, as if willing himself to remember. "She came to sickbay demanding supplies, I denied her but would give her a check up. I decided to drug her but she struck me... and shot me point blank."

Amelia thought for a moment. "She shot me too, but she said she didn't want to kill me. So, we're not dead we're just unconscious." She looked around again. "Not that I'm complaining but, how am I here with you?"

"She... who.. is fine," Syvar prompted, "surely you don't mean yourself? Even if you're stunned.... when you wake up I want you to go to sickbay." It was non-negotiable, his worry for her was almost palpable.

"She.... Who....?" Amelia frowned for a moment, then a look of realization dawned on her face. She smiled to herself and nodded as she spoke. "Our baby. Our baby is fine. Don't ask me how I know, I just know ok? She moved back closer to him "When I come round, I'll come down to Sickbay. As soon as I've alerted security to that... woman running around the ship. She needs to be stopped." She paused for a moment. "You didn't answer my question." She gently teased. "How come I'm here? Could it be because we.... because we were intimate?"

"I think it's a little more than that," Syvar mused, "we are bonded. Why exactly though, I don't know. Perhaps we have a dire need?" He led her towards the veranda and sat her down on his lap as he sank down in the rocking chair. "This has never happened before, I've never been this close with anyone before. Other than your mirror..." He paused, still unwilling to discuss that recent part of his life. "You were hurt, I was hurt, I feel our minds may well be seeking the other out. I don't know what condition I'm in, the last I remember is a phaser blast striking me."

Amelia sighed "Well, I can' think of anywhere I'd rather be or anyone else I'd rather be with." She cozied up to him, content. "Your home is beautiful. I look forward to visiting it with you. It's similar to where I grew up in Austin, maybe with fewer Koala bears though," She smiled and gave his hand a squeeze.

"Well this is Australia," he answered, his adopted accent quite coming through as he said it. He gave her a comforting smile, drawing his arms around her as he gently made the chair rock.

The environment suddenly began to get fuzzy and faint. "Syvar! What's happening?"

Blackness swallowed up her field of vision.....

... and suddenly Syvar found himself alone in the rocking chair, alone with his thoughts and feelings. "Amelia!" he called out, "Amelia! Come back!"
