ON:

Michael had made a quick trip to Starbase 308, helping the refugees from the USS Europa to make their transitions and deal with the loss of personal items that were destroyed along with the USS Europa. It was a daunting task that needed to be done.

While he was there, he was approached by a rather official looking individual.

"Excuse me, are you from the USS Andromeda?" the man asked.

"Yes, I am. Is there anything I can do for you?" Michael responded.

"Oh yes, we are placing a plaque in honor of the help the USS Andromeda gave us, when we sorely needed it. We are having a ceremony, and would like your captain to be there." the official remarked.

"Sir, I will be very glad to pass on your desire to the captain. I will let you know as soon as possible." Michael said.

The official nodded, and left.

Michael sighed deeply, pomp and circumstances, something he felt that the Captain may not like at all. He will need help to let Captain Reynolds know and not let him get out of the ceremony.

He went back to the ship, tapping on his commbadge he asked, "True, may I meet with you in your office."

He also sent a message to Eddie.

"Eddie, will you meet with me in True's office? It's important."

And he went to the counselor's office, to meet with them. He was a small bit nervous, and definitely wanted some feed back from those two.

Eddie entered having no clue why the chief of engineering was summoning him. “I’ve done nothing I shouldn’t of,” he protested immediately. “In fact I’ve stuck to dads grounding punishment to the letter.”

He had too, as it was the only way he was going to be allowed time back on the station.

"You are not in trouble, Eddie. In fact I need your help, as well as True's. You see, I was approached by an official who is wanting to have Captain Reynold's attendance at an award ceremony, they have a plaque to commemorate the help the Andromeda gave when Starbase 308 was attacked by the So'Na. They wish to honor the ship and probably have the captain cut the ribbon and present a plaque. You know him better than I do, but to me, he doesn't seem to like the pomp and circumstance sort of thing."

True heard Eddie's voice and couldn't help but smile a bit. "No, you certainly aren't in trouble. And I think that sounds like a wonderful idea. I think he understands the importance of such ceremonies even if he might not like to do them. I think I can talk him into it," she glanced at Eddie to see what his thoughts on the matter were.

"Hes going to hate the idea," he said simply. "You know why cause his entire life he's had to go to stuff like this with Gran.

But," he looked at True, "If anyone can talk him into it Im sure you stand a chance. He will try to delegate it to someone though. You need to spring it really on him last minute so he can't do that."

"I'll come up with something, "True smiled at him.

Michael smiled, "Thank you. I don't dare tell anyone else of this though. I'm not certain if I should, you know how the rumours spread like wildfire and if he even catches a single snippet of this, he might make himself scarce, maybe? Your thoughts on that?"

"Yes, best to keep it to ourselves for now I think." True nodded. "Surprises are so much more fun when they come from your girlfriend," True chuckled. "I'll get back to you on what he decides."

Eddie looked somewhat amused yet not totally convinced they would pull this off smoothly ... “well if I’m not in trouble and am free to go. Good luck there guys.”

True smiled at Eddie. "Thanks, I'm sure we'll need it."
