M'Tarra couldn't believe her luck, having a gorgeous husband! A couple of glorious days of a honeymoon but she was desiring to get to work.

"C'Tora, my love, when do I get to get back to work? I'd love to meet another of your staff. I think his name is Syvar? Could it be possible I could do that, and also see where I will be working at?" running her finger along his cheek and placing a kiss on the top of his head.

C'Tora glanced up and stroked the side of M'Tarra's face gently. " My love don't you remember that lab I showed you the first day aboard? True there was no one in there at the time and it is close to sickbay. Or perhaps you were a little to distracted?" as he purred at her. " Introducing you to Syvar is easily done. Syvar is Vulcan, intelligent and capable. And I am most pleased that he is assigned to the Andromeda and to the medical staff here."

C'Tora extended his hand to M'Tarra. " Now get over here so I can cuddle to you for a few minutes before my lunch break is over. I want to make sure your not some dream that's going to fade away. You'll be meeting Syvar very soon." Several minutes later C'Tora and M'Tarra walked into Sickbay and looked around until he spotted Syvar.

" Syvar! May I have a minute of your time please? I would like to introduce you to my lovely bride who is like yourself is trained in the medical arts and a researcher as well. Since you'll be working together a fair amount of the time I thought I'd introduce you. Syvar this is M'Tarra. M'Tarra this is Syvar."

"Bride?" Syvar blinked at that news, "you got married too sir?" he asked as he approached and offered a gloved hand to the female feline. "Welcome aboard ma'am.. I'm Syvar." He smiled brightly at her. "Probably the most junior doctor here..."

C'Tora looked at Syvar quizzically. " Syvar, since when did you start calling me Sir? We're medical around here and I'm a Doctor first. So save that Sir stuff for when the brass is around." C'Tora's expression mellowed. " And yes I got married while on Starbase 308 and I couldn't be happier." He gazed lovingly at his bride briefly. " I'm certain she'll tell you all about it."

M'Tarra blinked for she had heard what Syvar said. "You got married as well?" her green feline eyes widening." Who is your lovely bride? And, how did you meet? I met C'Tora when I wanted to get away from his mother." she paused, giving a bit of giggled. "I had been in a tree when we ended up meeting. I don't know if you want the whole details though. It was most fortunate that he and I met, for my own mother had brought two male Caitians whom she wished me to meet and possibly be wedded to one of them."

Syvar managed to look a little contrite. "You're my boss," he murmured before diverting his attention back to the beautiful female cat, who had eyes almost as bright green as his own. "I'm married to Lieutenant Amelia Fox," he answered, "and the way we met is...unusual. I met her mirror counterpart first and my wife she uhm..." He paused, a little uncomfortable in recounting it all. "Let's say that she saved my life, and my career."

M'Tarra raised an eyebrow. "A mirror universe version of your XO? Oh my!" she noticed Syvar's green eyes then looked at her husband's green eyes and said with a smile. she directed her gaze back to Syvar. "To go off topic for the moment. I just realized that we've got three beings in here that have the same color of eyes. I never thought this would happen before." she chuckled, " As for your Amelia, I am glad she saved you." giving Syvar a keenly interested look. "I'm glad we will get the chance work together." then looked back at C'Tora. "You were right, you've got a fine group of people you are working with."

C'Tora lowered his head a bit and spoke softly. " I'm sorry Syvar if it sounded like I was snapping at you. It's just being called Sir has always grated on my nerves for some reason.I know I'm your boss and in charge of the Sickbay, But when we're in an informal setting like this C'Tora is just fine. If it's something professional, Then Dr. Kuroka will work. Besides you're my friend." As he lay his hand gently on Syvar's shoulder and smiled. " Please can we save the Sir stuff for when the higher ups are around?"

"Yes s-" The younger man faltered, blushing a little in embarrassment. "Of course," he amended with a small smile, shying away from the hand that rested on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I don't really like to be touched. I understand the intent, but as I'm still learning telepathic control, even with a uniform in between, I prefer not to be touched without warning."

M'Tarra watched the interaction. "Duly noted, no touching unless a medical emergency." She stated. "Syvar do you like plants, and what are your interests, things you like to do?" eager to get to know this truly intriguing co-worker. She looked at C'Tora, "Do you think that there will be an area I get to study plants?"

"Lieutenant Hawkins gave me a plant recently, along with equipment to tend to it. However, this ship does have an arboretum. Perhaps you could go there?" He arched a single eyebrow at her in question. "I'm sure the caretakers won't mind?"

Abashedly C'Tora hung his head low. " I'm sorry Syvar. I tend to forget other races aren't as socially open as others. I'll do my best not to do it again."

M'Tarra reached out and gently stroked C'Tora's head. "Look its okay, Love." she then looked at Syvar, "I certainly will look at the arboretum, I still have to explore the rest of the ship. Does the Andromeda have a hydroponics garden area?"

Syvar took note of the feline's composure and smiled gently, offering a gloved hand. "It's why I wear gloves sir," he said formally, feeling this was something between colleagues rather than off duty people. "Contact without warning makes me uncomfortable, I don't mind the touch on itself, just a little warning would be appreciated."

C'Tora's demeanor improved, and he let out a slow breath. " Thank you for the information... I shall make certain to ask first in the future." C'Tora grinned at M'Tarra. " Well if my lovely bride could converse with you and save me from making any more faux pas, I could excuse myself to make the three of us some tea if there aren't any objections." As he teased his wife before heading to the replicator.

M'Tarra smiled fondly watching C'Tora go get some tea, then turned her attention back to Syvar. " I can very well understand needing the warning before someone touches you. I have had to tell several different people to ask before they touch me. People seem to be still curious as to what a Caitian's fur feels like, wondering if my fur is as soft as it looks." She gave a bit of an eyeroll at that one. "If they want to find out, they can ask, but not just reach out and touch. I had accidentally swatted at some of my colleagues who forgot and decided to touch my head without warning. It was embarrassing for both myself and the one who touched without warning. I was deep in concentration when that happened. They touched me, I whirled around and bap! I knocked them back a few feet. I was so embarrassed...I thought I would be brought up on charges for that one." her nose darkening a bit which could be termed her blushing.

Eyes twinkling, Syvar looked at her in mock-shock. "I've not had that happen, but it's common sense not to touch a Vulcan. I'm not like other Vulcans, but I'm still a touch telepath, and due to my... upbringing, not as well trained as those others."

C'Tora returned with three mugs of tea on a tray and held out the tray as to offer the tea to the other two in his company. " Here you go, Hope you enjoy the tea."

"Thank you, love." M'Tarra replied, looking at C'Tora and smiling. Then turned her attention back to Syvar. "What happens if you are not as well trained as other Vulcans and you being a touch telepath. And weren't you brought up by other Vulcans? It sounds like you have an interesting background. Please tell us more."

Syvar accepted the tea with a grateful nod. "I cannot keep myself from sending the emotions or feelings when I touch another," he explained, "or keep them from feeling mine. I was not raised on, nor by Vulcans. My parents died in transit to earth by a terrible illness that nearly got me too. I was raised by a Human couple from age ten on. I couldn't have wished for lovelier people and I love them dearly."

The tray slipped from C'Tora's hand and fell a few centimeters and clattered on the table nearly spilling the cup. He then looked over his shoulder at Syvar. " I am so sorry to hear that Syvar, I had no idea that you lost both your parents and nearly your own life as well. What can we do to help? Is there a holodeck program or another Vulcan aboard that could help you learn the discipline? surely there must be something we can do."

"I thought I told you when we met," a startled Syvar replied, "I'm not sure I can still learn this, it'll probably take years and a lot of practice. I'd love to learn to control my telepathic talent but I don't want to learn emotional control. My parents, my birth parents left Vulcan because they didn't either." He paused to crouch down and help clean up the mess. "I don't know how you could help sir... As for other Vulcans... The V'Tosh are looked down on.. because we choose not to inhibit our emotions by controlling them and our feelings. They may not want to help."

C'Tora let out a small growl and then placed his hand on his forehead and shook his head. " The Vulcan's of all people....." He let out a sigh. " No, I can't say that. The Caitians are no better. Sometimes when a Caitian takes a non Caitian as a mate, his or her family considers it as a meaningless relationship and turn their backs on them." C'Tora massaged his temples. " I'm sorry it just makes me frustrated. Sometime I really wonder the people in the federation are really as civilized as we think we are. We should be able to take care of our own and understand them better."

"It is as it is," Syvar answered him, "it's their problem not mine, isn't it?" He reached out but didn't touch the man sized feline. "Don't get frustrated for my sake, I'll be fine."

C'Tora let out an exasperated breath. " I know you will be fine Syvar. But the subject is upsetting!!" then softly under his breath he said. " Maybe because it hits to close to home for me." Realizing he said it louder then he intended. " I have a cousin, her name is S'Lara and is an engineer aboard the Cyane. She met a wonderful man and married him, when the family found out they basically ostracized her. Family is VERY important to a Caitian, especially to a female. As far as I know I am the only one that even speaks with her still."

This time he did allow his gloved hand to touch the dark fur. "Surely your wife would too? I don't understand the exclusion by family even though I've never met any I may still have on Vulcan. But that's because of a life choice my parents made. I have a new family on Earth that accepts me as I am. I'm happy to talk to your cousin too. Sometimes...the best family you can have isn't blood family. It's the family you choose to have."

C'Tora just shook his head and laughed . " Ironic isn't it? I'm getting frustrated by how your being treated and wanting to find a solution and you end up comforting me." He smiled at Syvar. " Your right you know. Sometimes the best family is the extended one you choose. If we ever run into the Cyane while we're at a Starbase somewhere, I would be more than happy to introduce you and M"Tarra to S'Lara. And Syvar, As far as M"Tarra and I are concerned you and Amelia ARE family to us, So don't be afraid to ask for help because we'll be there for you."

M'Tarra's eyes widened at seeing Syvar gently touch C'Tora, this was rather momentous. "I would love to meet Amelia and the rest of the crew. I am looking forward to it. And I agree, you can't choose your blood relations, but you can choose who will be your adopted tribe or family." she looked at both C'Tora and Syvar. "Yup, I think that I am going to like being here, very much."

"I'm glad you like it here M'tarra." As his tail entwined around hers. " My home is where ever your heart is, And where ever that is I'll be happy as long as your by my side." He looked to Syvar and smiled. " And you Syvar, I also thank you for accepting me as family as well. It is an honor to be your friend and family, by it we are both better and stronger. There is nothing stronger in all of creation then Love, Family and Friendship."

The young Vulcan just smiled and nodded. "My home is where my family is," he added, "my wife...and unborn child."

" Not unborn for to much longer Syvar. Before you know it there will be a busy bundle of joy in your life." C'Tora said with a grin. " I think both you and Amelia will make wonderful parents. And your children will be raised by a family that loves them, I can think of nothing better." C'Tora turned to T'Marra. " What is your opinion on the matter T'Marra my love? "

M'Tarra gave a nod, as well as a bit of a smile. "I agree, you will be a great father to your baby. Already I can see it, you will definitely be a loving daddy." looking at Syvar.

"I had great examples," Syvar murmured, referring to his own adoptive parents, "and we'll do our best, I'm sure everyone will want to help if we need it."

"Of course we'd be more then happy to help out any way we can." C'Tora said. " I even have a colorful collection of yarn balls the baby can play with. Great for hand eye coordination." He said with a grin. " And don't worry about anything. With your family and extended family ,your child will have nothing to worry about."

"Well not balls of yarn for Syvar's baby, those are for me." M'Tarra joked, "For babies that are not caitians, balls that are soft in nature for babies to play with now that would work. Got to have it soft enough for babies to grasp with their cute little fingers." laughing slightly but also giving Syvar and C'Tora a bit of a smile. "Definitely bright colors to stimulate their delight."

"It'll be a while before the baby can hold on to anything," Syar mused, "not that I know much of babies... but thank you." He smiled gratefully at the two felines.

" Well from what my father used to say, is that being a parent is all on the job training. The more you have the easier it gets. And if your child ever gets sick, I know some people in Sickbay that could help with priority treatment of your infant and would gladly help." C'Tora said with a grin.

"Ahh...let's start with just one sir," the younger doctor grinned, "I'm really looking forward to it, even though I'm still very young. According to some, I'm still a child..."

C'Tora chuckled. " You have nothing to worry about there Syvar, I don't have to tell you that one child per birth is normal for a human or Vulcan. And your far from being a child, Starfleet doesn't allow children to be doctors." C'Tora gave Syvar a sideward glance and smiled. " Now if you and your mate were Caitians, Then you could expect between one to four kits per litter. I'm the eldest of nine from three litters that my mother bore."

"Which is why it is good to have more than one person involved in raising the little ones. It seems to take a community to help raise children and kits." M'tarra replied with a smile.

C'Tora looked towards M'Tarra. " Well beloved, When we do decide to start our own family...We are going to be very busy between work and raising a family. But I'm glad your the one I'll be spending my life with."

M'Tarra smiled, then turned to Syvar, "Well now that we've met and I'm glad of that, we probably need to get to work? There are things to prep I do believe, before the ship reaches our destination."

Syvar nodded. "I should probably also check on Amelia soon. She's persistent in being party to the away teams and I want to make sure she understand she has to be careful."

M'Tarra nodded, "That sounds like you've got an adventurous lady there."

" Don't worry too much Syvar." Said C'Tora. " I'll be down there to and I'll do everything I can to keep an eye on your bride, to keep her and the child safe."

"Thank you sir," the younger man answered gratefully. "If you'll excuse me...I do need to see her before she goes." He gave a concerned smile, before ducking out of sickbay.
