ON:

Amelia, now recovered, was overseeing the distribution of the cure to the rest of the colony. She was heading back to the administrative office when she was passing the landing zone and something made her pause.

There were the two runabouts parked and another shuttle had come down from the Andromeda. She looked at the shuttle cursorily. Suddenly, she found herself walking over to it.

She lowered the ramp and found someone lying in a heap on the floor. Instantly, she knew who it was.

Quickly she grabbed a medical kit and rushed over and knelt down next to him, giving him a quick scan, then loading an appropriate hypospray and injecting him in the neck.

She gently ran her fingers through his hair as he started to come around. "Svyar.... Are you ok? What are you doing here?"

The young man in question moaned under his breath, bringing a shaking hand up to his head. "Ow..." he murmured, blinking a few times as consciousness returned to him. "Amelia?" He paused, holding his breath as his vision swam as soon as he lifted his head. Carefully, he rolled onto his back, closing his eyes again as he had the feeling of falling as he turned. The feeling made his stomach turn and he swallowed hard. "I don't know... where is 'here?"

She continued to run her hand through his hair and looked at him with a mixture of love and concern. "You're in a shuttle on the surface near the colony and from the looks of it, you didn't come willingly. There are traces of a sedative in your system but I've given you a counteragent and you've got a nasty concussion. What happened?"

"I'm not sure. I helped an enlisted woman named Rita put medical supplies in the shuttle. The last I remember is being hit on the head." Her fingers running through his hair was incredibly soothing. "I did want to come down but they wouldn't let me before, it was too dangerous. I had no intention of disobeying those orders, but someone knocked me out and I don't know why."

Amelia frowned. "I don't know her.... And why would someone want to force you down here?" She glanced around the shuttle. Apart from Syvar, it was empty. She quickly ran another scan of him. "It doesn't look like there is any permant damage. Can you walk? We better go and inform the Captain."

After slowly getting to her feet, she helped him to his.

"Well, it's not been without some excitement down here too. There was this disease going around that was making people act like children. Luckily, the Doctor has found an antidote." Her face turned slightly red with embarrassment. "I was affected as well."

Syvar made a few staggering steps, and he closed his eyes again. "I'm not sure I can walk, I feel very dizzy and I have a headache." Still, he carefully pulled her close to him. "I know you were a child, you called me and I was desperate to get to you but I was ordered not to. It was difficult not to disobey that order, trust me." He opened his eyes to give her a quick once over. "You're alright though? And the baby?"

Amelia stopped and held him for a moment, thinking back on what he had said. She lowered him on to the bench seat at the rear of the shuttle and quickly found him a bottle of water. "I called you.... Yes... yes, I did. I remember now. I'm sorry if I worried you. The doctor checked me out and the baby is fine."

Syvar nodded, carefully sipping the water, swallowing hard to keep it down as his nausea seemed to twist his stomach.

She tapped her comm badge. "Fox to Reynolds, we have a situation Sir. Can you come to the shuttle pad ASAP."

Jon wasn't expecting to be contacted but he curiously pressed his comm. badge. "Reynolds. Sure number one. I'll head over there."

He excused himself from discussion with some of the now coherent and no longer thinking they were children, staff on the colony and headed out.

"So .." he said approaching the shuttle door. "What's going on ...... Why is Dr Syvar on the planet?" he said his eyes looking at the other man.

A very pale looking Vulcan looked back at him, before averting his gaze. "I don't know," he answered honestly, "I was delivering supplies to the shuttle, and next I know I wake up here." He swallowed a few times, trying to keep himself steady. "I feel sick," he murmured.

"From the looks of it, he was hit over the head and drugged." Amelia offered in his defence. "He said he was forced into the shuttle by one of the medical staff named Rita."

Syvar shook his head, instantly regretting the movement and he swallowed hard so not to vomit and embarrass himself further. "She didn't force me. I helped her move supplies, she said they were needed, even had the orders for them. I don't think she was medical staff, I've never seen her on the roster or in sickbay before. She didn't hit me, I saw her at all times."

Jon looked at Amelia concerned. “I don't like this number one. It sounds like we have.... Erm had 2 spy's in the camp. And potentially someone is still onboard if someone else knocked Syvar out. We need to have a further discussion about what to do about this at a better time.

Let's get Syvar and you back to Dr CTora and schedule that for when we are back on the Andromeda.

Do you know what they brought down to the planet?” Jon said moving to take Syvars weight on him and help him walk.

Syvar gratefully accepted the support, feeling very unsteady on his feet. "I probably have the PADD with the supply list they wanted," he offered uncertainly, "It was just medical supplies, field kids, medical rations, nothing out of the ordinary. They did have other boxes but I don't know what was in them. I didn't touch them, I just moved what was ordered next to them." He brought his free hand up to his head. "What on Earth did they inject me with? I feel terrible."

Amelia opened the tricorder again and gave Syvar another scan. "They injected him with a fairly potent sedative but I've given him something to counteract it. It should be out of your system soon." She looked at Jonathan "Look like he caught them in the middle of something and they didn't want him talking but who would want to smuggle medical supplies unless that's just a cover for something more sinister..." Amelia mused, an alarm sounding in her head.

"I don't know," the Vulcan answered unhappily, "there were many people loading crates, but there was no-one else in the shuttle that I was aware of, except for Miss Rita."

"Well by the sounds of it someone conked you on the back of the head. So someone was in on it with this Rita," Jon said firmly. "And we need to smoke them out. Carefully. Like we did with your doppelganger Fox. This needs thinking about and a proper plan. Also who would place 2 operatives on my ship? Cetea?" he asked. "I mean we haven't tussled with anyone much to the point where I think they would be wanting to keep an eye on us."

Amelia took a step towards Jonathan. "I Agree Captain but first, I think I better take Syvar back to the ship. He needs a proper examination in sickbay. Also, at the moment I would recommend keeping this information to the Senior staff. The fewer people who know the better. We could use it to flush out the operatives."

"If.." Syvar hesitated, closing his eyes again. "if you need to flush out someone, I shouldn't go back to the ship. Whoever knocked me out must have people who helped him or her, they'd notify that person and tell them... because seeing me they'd know I would've told you what I knew. I shouldn't be seen."

“Thats a good point. I mean we have a limited window, we can't keep you out of sight indefinitely. Medical needs you but for a little while. Number one we need to try devise how to flush out this rat,” Jon said.

“Now we have the cure and once the doc gives the okay Hawkins has been working to strengthen the transporters. Syvar you're the first person going back. You too Fox, straight to your quarters so your not seen and I'll get the doc to come make a personal call.

I'm sorry Syvar, you might be a little bored for a bit but try take some time to rest and recuperate, ” Jon told him.

Syvar gave a slow nod. "I think I'll sleep most of the time," he answered, knowing that with a concussion that wasn't a good idea. but he really did feel sick and he felt sleeping might be the best thing to do.

"What did you manage to learn from the locals?" Amelia asked John.

"There's another species here as well as them. The leader .. kind of like a witch doctor. Drugged me and Aidan with some tea," he said seriously. "She has some issues sharing. The other species now wish to embrace everyone here so hopefully relations will start to improve and the colony can find out more about the "others".

I literally was dragged into the earth by these beings Fox," Jon stated as they got back inside the colony. Another crew man walked up and proceeded to take the vulcan off his shoulder. "There's someone from medical over here," he nodded.

"It was a very odd experience," Jon finished as they followed Syvar to the medical team.

Amelia nodded "It certainly sounds like it."

At that moment, as Syvar was being examined, an Ensign approached Jon. "Excuse me Sirs but we've established some pattern enhancers near the landing site and have already connected them to the Andromeda's transporter system. We should be able to beam up through the distortion effect in the upper atmosphere but only one at a time as we need to seriously boost the annular confinement beam."

Syvar sat as still as was possible, his eyes closed in a vain attempt to keep the world from spinning. He said nothing and didn't even try to listen in.

"Excellent," Jon said. "Syvar you're first. Then get Oliver to beam you directly to your quarters as soon as he doc is done."

The Vulcan gave a slow nod, almost startled at suddenly being addressed as he was almost zoning out. "Yes," was all he answered.
