ON:

"They should be awakening soon," an unknown voice said.

"Their heads are going to hurt. Those lizard darts are nasty,"

"Look I think ones awakening …."

True resisted the urge to moan. Thought she heard voices nearby she didn't know if they were in the room and didn't want them to know she was waking up. She chanced opening one eye slightly so she could see what was going on and if Rose was with her or not.

"Its okay," the female said softly. "The Lizards have gone. We are all in the same boat here. Locked in the same room, waiting for them to sell us. Sit up slowly though. Those darts can mess with your balance once your're conscious again."

"I'm Pol. They got me when my husband kicked me out. He decided he wanted a younger model."

Well she wasn't dead. That was an improvement over her last thoughts when the dart had hit her. She felt very woozy and a little bit sick to her stomach but she sat up anyway and blinked her eyes. "I'm True," she said and then kicked herself for revealing her real name.

Giving a groan as she woke, Rose’s eyes snapped open as she jumped to her feet. Instantly regretting her actions, she collapsed to one knee as her head spun, “urg, what what in those things?” She said, feeling the new material on her legs as sensation slowly returned to her. After looking at the clothes she was now in, her mind suddenly snapped back into gear, and she frantically looked around for True, “Counsellor?” She called.

"I'm here." True said, just now coming to terms with the idea that she'd been undressed and placed in this gown. It didn't make her stomach feel any better, the thought that they could have been touching her body and she would not have known it.

Finding True nearby, Rose made her way quickly over to her, “are you ok? How are you feeling?” She asked, hopping she hadn’t been harmed while they were unconscious.

"I'm fine." True assured her. "Kicking myself for being so stupid, but fine."

"Hey don't beat yourself up ladies. If they decide this our fate then we get nabbed eventually," sighed the alien who had identified herself as Pol. "There is water over there and what they consider food. If that would make you feel any better. Best to keep your strength up for when you get put out to pasture."

"Put out to pasture?" She didn't want to ask but she needed to know what the woman was talking about exactly. The more she knew the easier it would be to figure out a way to get out of here.

"Sold," Pol said looking at her as if she was mad. "You will need your energy for your new owners needs."

Oh that was so not going to happen. True had never been in a relationship with an abusive man, and she had always chosen what had happened to her own body. "Haven't you ever tried to fight back?" She asked, almost angrily but kept the tone of her voice neutral. "All of you?"

“Oh look at this one, thinks she can start the revolution,” one of the other aliens spat. “You actually manage to get out that door the Dons guards will shoot you. Where are you from? Certainly not round here.”

"No place you've likely ever heard of," True answered distractedly as she looked around the room and tried to form some kind of plan in her brain.

“What you worried about anyway,” she addressed True. “Your the boring one. No ones going to buy you over your friend there with her quirky ears. This crowd likes unique. You’ll end up working in a kitchen or something. “

"Oh I think not," True replied. "I'm getting out of here or I'm going to die trying. A life of servitude is not in my future."

“How do you plan to locate and get the pain emitters out then placed in you,” hissed another. “With your teeth?” Laughter flowed through the room.

"If I have to," she snapped back at the woman. "It's better than giving up."

“Councillor, please calm down. Right now we need to scope out the situation. It may be difficult but sitting still may be our best option right now”

"I am calm," True snapped a little bit. "I'm just not going to sit around here an accept my fate like them. I'm going to figure a way out, whether that's now or later." True sat back down but her eyes darted all over the room, mostly ignoring the other women in it.

One of the other captives came over and handed them a cup of clear liquid. “If you get out of the door they operate the pain device and you will end up knocked out and right back here. Lots of tried. You best play is to try escape from your new owner. Only one person then with the remote and you might be able too ... you know .... distract them.”

“You sound like you’ve had done experience with this before?” Rose asked, turning to face the captive.

The other woman merely smiled. "Who doesn't know how to … distract."

True almost laughed, she was probably the one woman in the world who wouldn't know how to pull it off. She just didn't think of herself that way and had never used her body for such . . . things. She let out a breath though, they were probably right about not breaking out of this cell. But she would get away, it would just be later.
