Mission: Mission 2 - The Agora crossroads

The group entered J'Tan's office, Amelia turned to him. "Do you have a medical scanner? I'd like True to give everyone a quick once over."

The purple alien nodded. He reached into one of his drawers and passed her a device.

She looked at True. "I know your knot a doctor but you're the closest thing we've got at the moment. Try and locate those pain control implants. We'll get those removed when we get back to the Andromeda. Also, it would be nice to know if all those pesky parasites have been killed off."

"I'm sure I can manage. It's the least I can do for the rescue." True took it from her and began turning it around and trying to figure out how it worked.

"I can help you," the purple alien said to True. "Here let me show you."

She reluctantly agreed, True wasn't much on trusting aliens at this point in her journey.

Rose watched this purple alien closely. Although she didn’t mistrust other species, she had inherited the Romulan ‘gift’ for paranoia from her Father.

Amelia sat down at J'Tan's computer and skillfully started entering a very elaborate encryption sequence.

"Hey, what the ….. you know that's my stuff federation," J'Tan said grumpily.

Amelia replied as she continued typing. "Don't worry I won't take anything."

After a few moments, the console beeped and Amelia spoke "Fox to Andromeda. Please respond."

Jons face and the background of the bridge appeared on the screen although fuzzy. "Andromeda. Number one whats going on?" the part Betazoid started looking over what they could see his end. He saw his XO, a purple male, True thank the goddesses and Rose. "And why cam I not seeing any of the males in the away team," he said after a moment as they watched his eyes travel over all of them noting the fact that Haulval and Aiden were missing."

Amelia shifted uncomfortably. Well, she might as well focus on the positive for a start, she thought. "Captain. We found who sent the signal. His name is J'Tan. He says he has important information for us. I had to buy Lieutenants Keading and Belikov after they were captured by slave traders. I Didn't..... I couldn't save Lieutenant Datari. He was bought by a very powerful and very feared individual called The Don."

Jons mouth opened. "Slave traders. What do we know about this Don? We are going to have to get Lieutenant Datari one way or the other."

The purple alien leaned further into shot. "He has an outpost in the Mirab sector. But I can't narrow down which planet. You would have to try work that one out yourselves."

"Can we trace his comm. badge?" Jon asked.

"Anything on the person grabbed by slavers will have been removed. If you trace it your only going to find it here," he shrugged.

"Then we will have to do this the old fashioned way and go scan for Trill life signs on 3 planets," Jon sighed. "What about Lieutenant Haulval?"

"He just seemed to lose focus and wander off. Rose and I followed him, got separated from the group, it was how we were sort of kidnapped." She nearly winced as she said it. Jon wasn't going to ever let her on an away team again.

Jon bit his lip ever so slightly, the only outward clue how much hearing True and Rose had been kidnapped was upsetting him. Inside he was fuming at Haulval for just … disappearing and creating this situation but as soon as that passed he started thinking more. The Vulcan had to have a reason.

"I assume we already tried to scan for Haulval unique biology. I mean he's intelligence if he wants to stay hidden he will do that. I can only assume he will make contact again when he's done whatever hes set out to do."

Amelia spoke up. "When we get back to the shuttle we can run a full scan for him Sir."

Jon's face didn't look any happier but he made a snap decision to pull the mission. He didn't want any more people disappearing and the quicker they got after Aidan the more chance they had of getting him back. "I want you all back on board the Andromeda as soon as possible. Mr J'Tan, would you be open to helping us? We could use a guide."

Amelia turned to J'Tan "Well, what do you say? It'll give me a chance to repay the latinum that I owe you and...... repay my other debt to you....." Her voice trailed off.

“I don’t know if that would be wise” Rose said, stepping forward, “we don’t know what his intentions are or who he could be working for. There are too many unknowns”

Amelia thought for a moment. "He's the one who sent the signal in the first place so he clearly wants our attention. And he did help me buy back Tru when he didn't have to. His knowledge of the area is far superior to ours so, I think it's worth the risk."

“I’ll leave that call to the CO” Rose said

True didn't feel the need to voice her opinion as she had barely met the man and Amelia had spent way more time around him. Plus, as much as she hated to admit it, he had helped rescue her. All she wanted to do now was get back on that ship and see Jon. Hopefully she could convince him not to freak out over what had happened.

Picking up on True’s anxiety’s, Rose moves over to her and put a hand on her shoulder, “if it makes you feel better Counsellor, as soon as we are back home, I fully intend on falling apart after I make sure Ziva is safe”

True gave her a small smile but she couldn't even tell her why she was fretting. She knew she was safe and had no intention of breaking down, she just hoped Jon was alright.

"If Mr J'Tan is willing bring him to the Andromeda," Jon said simply. He wanted to speak with the man and knew their best chance of getting Aidan back was with someone who knew where they were heading into. Rose had a point but he was empathic so he would certainly pick up on intentions. And he trusted his security chief to keep the man from doing anything he shouldn't.

"Do the scan on Haulval and high tail it back here.

Rose sighed. She didn’t like it, but the CO wanted J’Tan back on the Andromeda and it was now her job to make sure he got there, however much she distrusted him.

Amelia nodded. "Aye Sir!"

"We will see you soon then. Reynolds out."

Amelia turned to Rose. "I'll get the engines fired up when we get back to the shuttle, can you scan for Lieutenant Haulval Lieutenant Belikov? Mr. J'Tan, this way and thank you."
