Having that conversation with her parents was the most embarrassing of her life. Of course she knew about sex from an earlier conversation in her youth but she hadn't expected that her body would betray her like this. Worst of all she had to tell Eddie what had happened or he was going to worry about her. She pressed the chime to the Captain's quarters and tried to take a couple of deep breaths. Syvar had accompanied her to explain it in better detail and that wasn't making this any less awkward.

Jon had heard his son come back and go into his room insisting he didn't want to talk. He had respected his wishes and kept cuddled up to True. It seemed he had done good on her birthday present. When the chime went his sense immediately went out. Eddie was not going to move which meant he had too. He sensed two people familiar.

He kissed True one more time, disappointed to have to leave her again and pulled on his boxers and a robe. "Whoever's outside its important," he told her.

"Come," he said to the door.

True threw on some clothing as well and followed Jon out of the bedroom. "Hi Tia," True said with a smile at the girl. She could tell something was wrong though, the girls face was flushed and Tia wasn't an overly emotional girl. "Is Eddie home?"

Jon nodded. "I'll get him,"

Eddie was certainly confused and seemed to be worried he was now in trouble. His son was somewhat reluctant to come but he did. Jon was unsure what was going on other than Tia was embarrassed. He hoped Eddie was not the cause of that.

"Hey …" the blond said simply. He wasn't sure what to say or what was going on. It couldn't be good if she and the doctor needed to speak to him. Maybe he was going to be sick too? Surely though Tia would still be in sickbay if she was ill.

"Hi," Tia said, her face coloring even more when she saw him. "So I guess we've come to explain what happened in sickbay." She looked at Syvar pleadingly. She didn't think she could get it out. Not normally an emotional person she felt like she wanted to cry from all this attention.

Resting a gloved hand on the girl's shoulder as if to protect her, Syvar gave her an encouraging nod before suppressing a sudden sneeze. "Perhaps we'd better all sit down first," he suggested quietly, though he too seemed just a little on edge. "It's nothing too serious. Well it is, but it's not life threatening," he tried to reassure all parties involved.

Jon didn't visually betray any worry but he spoke to his son in his mind. ~What happened on this tour you took her on?~

Eddie jumped not expecting it in company and flushed slightly.

"Please," Jon indicated the sofa and chairs to the others while continuing his concerned words with Eddie.

~Nothing dad. We went to the medusas head and there was a Chinese celebration, then to her quarters to look up the lizards and had ice cream and then she got ill so I took her to sickbay. The put me in a separate room and called her parents then told me go. I have no idea what's going on~

Jon wasn't sure if it was required but found himself saying, "Would anyone like a drink?"

Tia shook her head and found a seat well away from everyone else where she didn't feel like she would be the center of the room. She couldn't help but stare at Eddie every once in a while though. Her heart was thudding in her chest. Would he think her a freak?

"Well I'm sure whatever it is, it can be talked about calmly." True said noticing the stiffness between father and son.

Jon nodded and sat next to True finding his arm just naturally moving round her shoulders. He knew he could stay calm and draw strength from hers.

"Lay it on us Doc," he said not wanting to drag whatever was happening out. Then he thought about it for a moment.

"Ermmmm actually do I need …." he looked at True hoping this wasn't going to ruin her birthday or put her in an awkward position either. "Do I need to get Eddies mother here too?" he asked.

Eddies eyes opened wider and he could sense his son liked that idea as much as he did right now.

Syvar looked sideways at Tia for a moment, then shook his head. "No I think this is awkward enough as it is for Miss Amiltia, I think you as primary guardian will suffice." He paused. "I don't know much about this process, let alone about Kriosians," he continued awkwardly, "but it seems that Miss Amiltia has formed a bond with your son. That's the best way I can describe it at this moment."

"It has nothing to do with Eddie, he didn't do anything." Tia insisted. "It's me. My body, it well . . . imprinted on him. But he's fine." She didn't know if she was making any sense. "Apparently I hit puberty." She buried her face in hands.

Eddie shared a look with his father. He still had no clue what was really going on. What any of that meant.

"What does imprinted mean exactly Tia and its okay. No one is in any trouble," Jon tried to reassure her and his son. "As long as you both are okay then we will figure out what we need to do in terms of … your bonding."

Charlotte was going to freak, he knew that. His mother was likely not going to be too happy either. She had been insisting on planning an alliance with another house for his son. But from what he could sense, it was just one of those weird alien things that came about and right now there was two rather awkward and confused teens in his lounge.

Awkwardly, and feeling very ill at ease with this situation, Syvar put his arm around the girl as if to comfort her. "I'll look into it further as well," he promised the teenagers and the flustered adults in the room. He could see something had been going on from the rosy blush on True's cheeks and he felt like an intruder. He sneezed again, feeling his eyes water in the process.

Tia kept her eyes hidden behind her hand but she straightened up a little bit because that was what you were supposed to do when you stalked to a Captain. "I guess it means that my hormones went crazy and that my body is changing to be a better mate for Eddie. It's something that apparently I inherited from an ancestor, but it won't hurt me or Eddie. And it might not be permanent because I'm really young. Things could change."

"Mate," Jon found himself spluttering. "You haven't ….. I mean physically … theres been no mating right?" He looked desperately at the doctor as that concept brought up a whole new level of seriousness.

"You are both far too young ….."

He turned to Eddie. "I was hoping you might take her on a nice date. Get to know Tia properly and see if you got on not …. … do we need to go through the birds and the bees now?"

Flushing just a little in combination of the awkwardness of the situation, as well as starting to feel a little unwell, Syvar shook his head. "No captain, I haven't found any evidence of them having ah...been together."

If Tia could have disappeared in that moment she would have. "I just took his hand was all. We haven't even kissed." She tried to assure the Captain.

"Dad we didn't do anything," Eddie said out loud just as mortified.

"Good," Jon said protectively. "I suggest you keep it that way. If you can bond by just holding hands imagine …. no don't. Neither of you are to let your minds go in that direction …… I remember puberty mister …." he directed at Eddie who seemed to be getting smaller and smaller in his seat.

"Doctor I think we need to find out everything about Kriosians was it? And understand this bonding. Perhaps I should speak with your Parents Tia?

He really didn't know what to do for the best.

Tia couldn't handle it anymore. She stood up and fled the room. She just wanted to hide somewhere and never come back.

"Oh Tia, it's okay," said True as she stood up. But she was out the door so quickly True wasn't even sure she heard her. "I'm going to get dressed and find her. Don't call her parents, I'm sure doctor Syvar has informed them of what's going on. And she hasn't done anything wrong."

Syvar nodded, now unable to keep himself from rubbing his burning eyes. "I informed them," he confirmed, "and I'm looking into this bonding matter but from what I found so far... it's not spoken of much, and it seems to be very rare." He sneezed again. "I need to go too, I'm sorry, I don't feel so good."

"And I'm going to mums," Eddie said angrily standing up and storming out.

Jon almost said something to his son but decided it was probably better to let him go right now. He just hoped he wasn't going to go after Tia.

"It might be the Cat," Jon said trying to stay calm. That had not gone well. He had not handled that well at all. He had made a young girl cry probably.

"Thank you doctor," he said letting the man go.

Syvar nodded. "I'll let you know when I find something," he promised, "but now I need to see to myself first before I really get sick." With a final nod, he headed out.

Jon sat back down now with a huge headache and swore. This was not meant to happen.

As True reappeared dressed and heading after Tia he said after her. "I won't speak to her parents." She was of course right. He meant well but that would just make it worse.

True leaned down and kissed him on the head. "I know you meant well. But she's just scared and embarrassed and it took a lot of courage to come and tell you what happened, to tell Eddie what happened. Don't worry, we'll sort it out." She slipped on some shoes and excited Jon's quarters leaving him all alone.
