Mission: Patching up the Copernicus

ON:

First officers log: The Andromeda is en route to the USS Copernicus after their Captain called us to assist in repairs. Apparently, their main defector was severely damaged when they attempted to take off from a planet that used to be an outpost of the T'Kon empire. They also suffered some casualties.

Amelia was sat in the Captain's chair. She tapped the button for the comm system "Captain, We're approaching the Copernicus." She struggled but, managed to stand up without moaning. "Helm, bring us out of warp and open hailing frequencies."

Morgan looked over his controls to note the engines at peak efficiency and he watched as the coordinates were defiently reached by the Galaxy class starship. He spoke as he placed in a couple of commands into the helm after hearing the order from behind, "Aye sir. Dropping to impulse now."

Morgan felt the ship come out of warp speed and he watched as the vast planet lay ahead of them. He looked over the area and noted nothing unusual in the vicinity and laid in a course for a stable orbit to where the distress call originated from.

Gwen, manning Tactical, watched the scene unfold. Scans began coming up regarding the Copernicus status and she sent them along to the Captain's chair.

Jon exited his ready room and Amelia relinquished his chair for him. "Thank you number one. Ops get a scan. How much damage has the Copernicus taken?"

"Sensors are picking up Copernicus Captain. Several hull breaches on the forward section of the engineering hull's lower section. Main deflector offline. Power conduits offline, warp systems operating at no more than twenty percent efficiency, life support and emergency forcefields are in place and holding but they look to be running of their emergency power... a complete list of other problems as well."

She turned in her chair to look at the command area of the bridge. "I will send the data over to Lieutenant Hawkins and make it readily available to you also!"

"Excellent," Jon said. "Can we get Captain Haistro on the comm?"

"They are already hailing us Captain... routing it to the main viewscreen!"
Deftly pressing a few controls and calling up the image of the Copernicus' bridge with the Captain sitting centre stage.

"She's taken a beating sir," Aidan spoke, "I'm surprised she's still in flight with all that damage."

From the helm, Lillian reported "Sir! The Andromeda just dropped out of warp and is approaching." On the viewscreen, the majestic image of a Galaxy class starship came into view and despite herself, she let out an impressed whistle. While she was happy to be getting experience handling the Copernicus, Lillian was still impressed by the size and beauty of the Andromeda.

"They're hailing us." Lillian added after a beeping on her console broke her out of her reverie.

"Excellent. Lieutenant Han, establish an uplink with the Andromeda and send them all of our sensor data, readings and findings as well as a copy of the data uploaded from the T'Kon computer systems... open a channel if you would be so kind Ensign!"

"Captain Reynolds... thank you for responding so quickly. We are establishing a link with your computer now and will send a copy of all of our findings and data... Some interesting reads in there for you!" Keiben started, smiling at his counterpart and the immensity of the ship he had command off. If only Copernicus was in the same league, they may have had a completely different outcome from their last mission.

"Excellent. I would like to invite you over and talk on things more," Jon said. "My engineering teams are ready to beam over. I believe Lieutenant Hawkins has been liaising with your Senior Chief Stoun."

"We eagerly await your engineering teams" Keiben looked off screen to someone standing nearby and simply nodded his head before turning back. "As for having a discussion, when would you like us to transport over?"

“Whenever's convenient Captain. I would also like to issue an invitation for dinner this evening, you, your first officer and any partners, ” Jon extended.

"Very gracious Captain... We will be there promptly. I think I have a bottle of Saurian Brandy hidden away for just these kind of occasions!" The Betazoid on screen paused for a moment as if listening to something off screen before returning his attention back to Captain Reynolds. "Do you require anything more from us Captain?"

"Saurian brandy sounds wonderful," Jon said. "See you at Dinner captain. I look forward to hearing of the USS Corpernicus's adventures. Reynolds out."

Jon turned to the crew. "Well, they seem nice folks. Let's get all the engineering teams over there Lieutenant Hawkins and start getting them back on their feet."

Michael gave a nod, "Will do, Sir." rising from his seat to get ready to board the USS Copernicus.
