Kovan looked over the readings and frowned, as a look of perplexed confusion spread across his face. " These readings make no sense! " Exclaimed the Andorian doctor. " She is in stasis and yet her vitals continue to deteriorate, albeit at a slower rate. How is that even possible? " He asked. " We have run just about every test that we could possibly run on her with no results. The only thing we haven't run a test for is demonic possession, and I'm pretty sure I didn't see a test kit for that during the last monthly inventory. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty well stumped for right now. "

M'Tara's eyes were narrowed as she looked at Amelia's vitals as well, her white tail swishing from side to side, it showing her annoyance. Wish we had a spiritual person we can talk to, maybe her vitals dropping low could be that her spirit is low. Maybe she is stuck in some sort of mental time loop, dreaming about something over and over and she can't come out of that dream by herself. It had been spoken about in a study of dreams research paper that I had read, if you are stuck in a dream and you can't get out you can die. Look at the expression on her face. Even though she is in stasis there is still some muscle activity, that is being read via the sensors."

M'Tara looked about for her furless cousin. Was he there yet? "Has anyone seen Syvar?"

Though at the back of his mind, Syvar was aware of Amelia's deteriorating condition, he felt he needed to focus on the children first. He couldn't afford any more exhaustion and then end up unable to care for them. Having retreated to another private ward, he'd pulled up a rocking chair and had fallen asleep with one of the girls in his arms.

Roger was next in the office, having had to drop Minnie off in the Civilian areas for school. His own wife was also under the weather, but he was pretty sure it was ladies' troubles, so he'd told her to sleep in and he'd gotten himself and their daughter ready for the day alone. Like him, the young girl hated changes to her routine, so she'd been a little difficult, so finding himself entering his sanctuary-the sickbay, where things were by the book and regulated-was a welcome sight that morning. The rest of the team was already gathered at Fox's bedside.

"How's she today?" He asked the other two. He knew from their expressions and body language that it wasn't going to be good news, but just HOW BAD was anyone guess. "Syvar is asleep in one of the private wards, or at least he was when I clocked off last night. I'll go wake him."

M'Tara gave a nod "That would be a good idea, as for what we can do, it may maybe take someone to connect with her mentally wise? Hopefully Syvar can do so." taking another worried look at Amelia.

Kovan walked to the other side of Sickbay and turned his back to the group, there was a slight hissing sound and he returned to the group. " Well I'm afraid that I would be of no use to our executive officer in the way of a mental link, Andorian telepathy is limited to our bond mates and no one else. The only one who I believe to be suited for that task is her husband, I fail to understand why he acts so timid when it comes to making mental contact. Everyone in the frickin galaxy knows that Vulcans are telepaths, So why won't he do such? What if Dr. Kuroka here is correct in her assumption? And the only way to save her is for Syvar to guide her out of whatever quandary she's in. The only suggestion I can bring to the table at this moment is, If we have someone on the ship that is trained in hypnotherapy, maybe that could be just as good. "

Syvar rubbed his eyes as he walked towards Amelia's bed. Despite the sleep, the young Vulcan looked exhausted, as if he hadn't been able to get any rest at all. Carefully, he placed the still sleeping baby in the crook of Amelia's arm, not just because he still firmly believed it might help her, but also because he believed the baby needed to be near her mother. "I'm no ordinary Vulcan," he explained, catching the Andorian's last words, "I wasn't raised Vulcan, and my melding skills are limited."

The Vulcan ran his hand over his wife's hair, his eyes softening as he cast her a look of pure love. "And in her condition it might even be very dangerous, for both of us. If there's really no other alternative, I'll do it." He looked up at the other doctors present. "I'm just terrified my children might lose both their parents, if something goes wrong."

Kovan looked to Syvar and spoke softly. " Doctor Syvar, I very much doubt that your children will be orphaned at this time. First off you are in Sickbay being attended to by several doctors and we're here to help you should anything go wrong. That and your forgetting something very important, If she is to be saved it will be by your faith and love that you have in your wife, you are her best hope to survive and bring her back. I believe in you and your ability to bring her back. "

Syvar appreciated the Andorian's attempt at what he thought was to be a pep-talk and he gave a grateful yet somewhat uncertain smile. "Thank you doctor," he answered as he scooped up the infant and walked up to M'Tara. "Would you hold her?" he asked softly, "there can be no other contact when I attempt this. It's too dangerous and I can't afford a distraction either, I'm not even sure if this will work." He looked back at Amelia, lying peacefully on the bed. "She saved me, when I needed saving from myself. I'd do anything for her, anything to try and save her."

M'Tara nodded, taking the infant in her arms, looking down at the little one then looked at Syvar, "You will make it through, my cousin. I have faith in you." she then looked at the others. "Shall we begin?"

The young Vulcan nodded nervously as he walked back to the bed. "Give me some time, don't act on the first drop in readings but monitor us both. Pull me out if a drop persists." He slowly kissed his wife then gently placed his fingers on key points on her face, closing his eyes in concentration.

Amelia? he called out as soon as he entered her mind.

From the doorway of his office, Roger watched carefully. He was still a stranger to these people, and didn’t want to overstep. Besides, the only thing he’d experienced that was even close enough to the situation at hand was a few instances of psychological attacks from the Cardassians when he was at the Beta hospitals. And they did pretty much what they were doing now. Besides a risky brain surgery, he wasn’t sure what else he could offer. Quietly, he moved a little closer, interested in the Vulcan meld process. He’d never seen it before. His eyes watched the statistics being spit out by the Biobed but it was silent. He should probably go check on the rest of his patients but he was a man entranced. After a few tense moments, he DID realize he was as useless as a chocolate teapot, so he whispered to Kovan. “I’m going to do rounds. Call me immediately if I’m needed.” He grabbed his PaDD and reluctantly walked away.

M'Tara reached out with her free hand, and placed it on his shoulder, to prevent him from leaving. "Lieutenant Harrison get your butt back here, sir. You will not be leaving this area. Kovan here is going to be going to get some shut eye, he's been up for quite sometime. I think close to 36 hours?" she narrowed her emerald green eyes towards him, her tail slightly bristling. "Get your tail in gear, you are the assistant chief medical officer, as I said before, step up." She huffed.

Kovan looked to M'Tara and nodded. " With the CMO off the ship and Syvar being exhausted and under mental duress, I covered those shifts as well as my own. And when Commander Fox came in as I was getting ready to leave, I felt obligated to stay. All the reports are currently up to date and I'm on my second stim hypo, in about two more hours I'm going to be as useful as a plate of cooked noodles. I'll stay if you need me to Sir.

Roger simply nodded. "I am sorry, Dr. Kovan; I hadn't realized. Feel free to take the next few days off for R&R. I can cover your shifts." He said this in a stage whisper, so as to get the info passed on but trying to not interrupt Dr. Syvar, either. He'd figure out how to tell his wife later that she'd be doing all the parenting for the next couple of days. "As for rounds, I guess Nurse Clark is capable," he said, mostly to reassure himself. To M'Tara, he spoke once more, quietly "What if this doesn't work? I haven't seen the Meld process before. Does it ever fail?" It HAD to, nothing was ever 100%. "Also, if you need to, I can have my wife come up and sit with the babies. It might keep her from wanting another for a bit longer." He was oversharing, a habit he did when he felt useless and couldn't just pace around.

"Its no worry about my taking care of the kittens," M'Tarra taking a glance down at the one she's holding a gentle purr emanating from her, then she looked back at Roger. "The mind meld from what I have researched in the books that deals with that subject, there can be some dangers but-" she looked back over towards Syvar, " I have faith in him, and her to bring Amelia out of her comatose state." her emerald green eyes looked back at Roger, "And I have faith in you that you will find your stride and not feel so out of place. Bsides we have enough personnel that can keep things running during this time. Just keep things monitored on both of them."

M'Tara then looked at Kovan, "Now scoot, go get some sleep." She then stepped into the other room where the other baby was at, and settled down in the rocking chair there, cradling the one in her arms and the other being rocked in the crib. Her gentle purr which seemed to have a calming effect on humans like a housecat.

Kovan nodded to M'tara and then turned to Roger. " With your permission then Doctor Harrison, I'd like to return to my quarters. Besides, I'm beginning to feel a bit warm. " As the Andorian wiped some sweat from his forehead.

M'Tara decided to step in, "Kovan, go to your quarters, and take care of yourself no permission is needed." With that, she made a shooing motion of one hand to send Kovan on his way.
