ON:

Leaving the bridge to Mitchell, Jon and True went down to sickbay once the away team were back and decontaminated. He was concerned about Belikov and wanted to meet this Orion scientist.

"Doctor Syvar, report please?" Jon said quickly upon entry.

Still shaken by his meeting with Amelia, Syvar emerged from his office. "Sorry sir, what would you like me to report on?" If anything the young Vulcan looked distracted.

Jon exchanged a glance at Tru, “Lieutenant Belikov’s condition.” Syvar seemed more nervous and jumpy than usual.

"Oh.. Uhm..." Syvar beckoned them to follow him to his office. "She's fine. Her injuries were treated by one of the nurses and after a quick check-up I've discharged her to her quarters. Why?" Surely, he'd sent a report? He looked across his desk, certain that he had sent a report to the captain. "Did I miss something?"

"Well the XO planetside reported the away team had been exposed to a contaminate. Thats why we asked the Orion scientist to come up. Did you find anything?" Jon asked. "Where is the Orion scientist. We could do with talking with them."

"Everyone went through decon and nothing known came up," Syvar answered, now starting to doubt himself. "I'll have to follow up with her... I'll recall her back to sickbay immediately." Doubt nagged at him as he tapped his combadge. "Lieutenant Belikov, report to sickbay immediately. Don't stray, take the most direct possible route please. It's important."

"Are you alright Syvar? You seem very . . . distracted." True commented with a bit of concern on her face. He had been acting oddly lately she'd noticed.

"I'm fine," Syvar lied, "just very busy ma'am. Still getting used to being the boss. Right now I'm worried I missed something." His cheeks flushed a little at his little lie, but that could easily be misinterpreted as embarrassment over his admission.

Walking back into sickbay, Rose looked around for the Doctor, “is something wrong? I thought I was clear?” She asked, standing just inside the door with her daughter Ziva in her arms. She’d barely had time to pick up Ziva before being called back to sickbay.

"Can you give Ziva to True please," Syvar asked gently, "I need to take further scans. Just to make sure I haven't missed anything, I didn't know about contaminants." He cast her an apologetic look. "I'm sorry ma'am, it won't take long "

"Certainly," True held out her arms for the baby. She didn't have that much experience with babies to be honest but she didn't mind taking the chance with one just for a few minutes.

Rose looked around at those around her with concern on her face. Holding Ziva a little closer to herself, Rose twisted herself around to put herself between Ziva and True as her paranoia kicked in a little, "what is going on? I was told I had been cleared"

"Please," the young Vulcan pleaded, "it's for your safety as well as your child's. I'm afraid my scanners may have missed something when I treated your injury. Now that I have more information, I need to re-examine everyone who was injured. Please don't have me call security and enforce this." He nodded towards True to please take the baby.

"Lieutenant please," Jon said indicating the biobed. He could understand her being protective and not wanting to be parted from her young child as soon as she had got back to her,.

"The counselor and your daughter can stay in the room where you can see them at all times."

looking to Jon, Rose took a moment before nodding. If she could trust anyone, it should be the Captain of the ship. Turning to True, she reluctantly handed Zeva over to him. Almost immediately, Zeva began to cry. leaning down, Rose gave her daughter a kiss on her forehead, "Shh, it's alright little one, I won't be far away" she whispered to her before standing up straight "Let's make this quick. What do you need" she asked as she moved over to the indicated biobed.

Quickly explaining what he was doing, Syvar took a bloodsample which he sent with a nurse for emergency analysis. Then he paid closer attention to the shotwound he had priorly healed. "This isn't looking good," he said softly, casting her an apologetic look. "I'll await the results of the bloodsample but based on what I see now that I know what to look for, I'm afraid you're going to have to stay in isolation until we know how to properly treat this."

Rose's face turned to one of panic, "No, no no no no. Not going to happen" She said as she shook her head. She finally had some time to spend with her child and now she was being told she was to be completely isolated from her again. "I feel fine, all I need is a few days to rest and recuperate and i'll be back to 100%"

Syvar shook his head. "I can't take that risk, not with the health of the crew at stake. However.." He paused, nodding for True to give back the baby. "I'm willing to have you keep your child with you on the condition you allow us to monitor her as well, and you give us a shout the moment her health is anything but what it should be."

Rose quickly nodded. She wasn't hearing anything other than what she wanted right now and to her all they were saying was that she would have to leave her child again. "alright, I can accept that. Now what's first?"

Jon could sense she was panicking and not following correctly. "Belikov," he said firmly seeking eye contact. "What do you need for the baby while you are both in medical isolation so Dr Syvar can do his investigations. We will get that organised."

"there's a felt shoulder bag, purple, in my quarters. That should have everything I need" Rose replied, as a thought occoured to her. "I assume breast feeding is off the table for now?" she asked the doctor.

"I recommend not," Syvar said, though he saw her expression change. "What we can do, is have you extract the milk and we run it through a sterilizer before giving it to your child. That way we can hopefully filter out any harmful particles. Otherwise I would recommend formula for the duration."

"Then lets go through what happened on the planet below and …." Jon looked round. "Where is this Orion scientist? They did come up with the away team didn't they? Doctor do you have them in another room? Have they been issued quarters?"

"I don't know," Syvar answered, "I don't know of any Orion scientists... I haven't seen anyone else."

"Great …." Jon said visually irritated. "We potentially have an alien from that planet running round the ship." The security guard in him was really needing to bottom this.

=^=Reynolds to Hawkins. Can you get confirmation on where the orion scientist who I was advised was beaming up with the away team is? They are not in sickbay.=^=

"Working on it, sir," Graham replied over the ship's comm.

True was fairly content with holding the little one. She'd gotten it to stop crying and now it was just staring at her. True knew she was trying to decide of she was friend of foe. "You have beautiful little eyes there. Stare right into the soul don't they?"

Sitting on the biobed as she waited for the results to come through, Rose watch True with Ziva like a mother cat. She'd never felt this overly protective of her daughter before, but perhaps it was purely because of the virus amplifying her maternal instincts.

Jon could sense Belikov was in full on momma bear mode. He knew True was in no danger and this was a natural reaction. Perhaps as they waited for this Orion scientist to be found and arrive, a change of subject might be helpful. More so as in if he kept watching True light up with a baby his head was going to be back on a recent conversation.

"So what happened down there? I haven't had a debrief yet. I expected to find you all in decom still. Seems the cycle is faster than I remember it," he chuckled. He had, had his fair share of that process.
