ON:

The runabout flew through the tropisphere and made a quick exit into the cloud cover that was hovering over the colony. Adam Morgan looked around at his controls and at the others in the runabout with him. The Captain gave him a quick glance and grin and Morgan placed a couple commands into the controls and slipped the Cassiopeia through the rest of the clouds until the colony became visable. Morgan looked out the viewport as the captain did the same and noted that colony seemed to be perfectly intact. So i guess that ruled out the attack portion of speculation.

Jon had sat up front with Morgan seen as though it was the first voyage of one of the runabouts. He was certainly happy in his decision to give this chap a shot at his chief flight officer as the man nicely put the Cassiopeia on the ground.

The colony, certainly on the outside looked like any other Federation colony he had visited. They had a plaque and remnants of the original colony ship preserved.

"Shall we then," he indicated the door once the shuttle touched the ground. He didn't move expecting Leighton or Hawkins to insist on taking the mantle up on being the first out there in case poison darts flew through the sky from this unknown indigenous tribe.

Michael was swift to get out of the shuttle once it touched the ground and the door opened. He scanned around the area to see if there were any nearby dangers, walking a few feet away from the shuttle. This was so that Gwen could get out as well. So far he hadn't seen anything yet with his physical eyes, but ran a scan with the tricorder just the same. He heard a rustle from just to the left becoming alert then relaxed as something resembling a hedgehog came wandering out.

Given they were going to deal with natives, Aidan had opted to take one of his swords, rather than both of them. He also carried his ushaan just in case as well as his science kit, but had opted not to wear a phaser. He waited behind the captain, opting to be the last one out of the shuttle.

Jon had to fight back a chuckle seeing Hawkins tense up and the culprit being some sort of rodent. "Is the coast clear?" he asked.

"Aye at least from this side. " he looked towards where Gwen is at. While he did so the hedgehog type creature walked over to give his boot a sniff before ambling its way along.

"It's safe to come out," Gwen said, "We're sitting ducks here so if anyone wanted to cause trouble, I doubt they'd have waited." There was a pause and then she said, "Actually...I would have." She kept her phaser low at her side, ready to raise, "If it was me, I'd want to see what we'd do."

"Kinda not what i was expecting to see upon arrival anyway...where is everyone?" Morgan asked suddenly. He looked back at the runabout and closed the hatch after all were out.

"You did a good job landing her," he said to Morgan happy in his handling of one of the runabouts. They barely had to walk far at all to one of the colonies entrance's.

As the entrance to the colony itself was close, Morgan spoke to the captain's statement. "First time landing a runabout class vessel. So i guess im in good graces then." Morgan then continued to walk with the rest of the team as they entered into the colony.

"No one to greet us," Jon commented as they walked in and saw no one.

"That is pretty strange." Michael remarked. still scanning for signs of humanoid life.

True nodded in agreement and glanced around her. "We didn't misunderstand the coordinates, did we?" She asked no one in particular, just in case.

C'Tora pulled out the medical tricorder and scanned the area. " Captain, the atmosphere is normal and within standards. Nothing out of the ordinary with the flora or fauna. There appears to be several lifeforms nearby." As he pointed off in the direction. " I'm sure they can see us, The only reason I can think of why they aren't coming out is if they are trapped or injured." He started moving the direction of the nearest lifeform.

Hawkins followed, still feeling a bit uncomfortable as if someone or something was watching. "Maybe we can call out Ollie ollie oxen free! This way if they are hiding or some are injured, someone can come out and take notice. That saying is a code for its okay to come out of hiding."

"They're definitely here," Jon said and sensing .... he stopped for a moment trying to work out exactly what he was sensing. "Playful. Come on," he stepped forward and led them to nearest entrance. As they walked through there was a gasp and a sudden figure scurried past and disappeared down a corridor.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five ....."

Jon cocked an eye at the rest of the team.

"You best start hiding newcomers or we will find you far to easily ....."

Michael's head whipped around when heard the voice. What the heck? They were playing hide and seek!

"They can come and play with my phaser..." Gwen muttered. She was annoyed. Having a phaser and being annoyed was not a good combination.

"Four, three, ......"

Another person appeared and indicated a door, "Here here," she hissed.

"Two ...."

She disappeared again into that door. Jon did not move and motioned the rest to just watch it play out. No one had any weapons and as far as he could tell they were witnessing a game of hide and seek.

"One .... I'M COMING TO GET YOU ….." there was some laughing and Jons eyes flicked up to the second level spotting the culprit. A human male, about 35.

Their eyes locked and he pointed right at him.

"Well I found you. You didn't even try ….."

"We didn't have time," Jon said calmly. "But if you come down here we can certainly help you find the others."

"Okay …" he disappeared in the direction of some steps.

Jon turned to the rest of the team.

"Okay doc get some scans and maybe get a look at sickbay and True do you want to take the lead in talking to him. He seems, like the ones we spoke to on the bridge to be acting childlike,"

"I don't think we are in any danger but lets access some consoles and get a firmer idea of the schematics of this place and see if we can find any recent logs as to what happened or records," he indicated Aidan, Hawkins and Leighton, "at what they were working on."
